Cottrell, McKay, Boyd. Possibly in that order.
But the main improver overall is the running capacity. Closely followed by the belief within the group.
Happy to be proven wrong.
Back home from the MCG. Happy with the win. Obviously, a truckload of work to do.
Didn't lock it in our forward line anywhere near the level that is expected of us.
However, despite how close it was, somehow I always felt a certain level of calm about knowing somehow we were going to win...
Pressure around the ball is going to be crucial. So far (granted, pre-season) the pressure has been off. Having said that, obviously fine tuning and the lineups aren't ideal which is normal for the pre-seaon. Combine that with both pre-season games in 36 degree plus weather doesn't lead to a...
Can't see us giving away our Future 1st with the Camporeale twins to arrive. Need picks to accommodate regardless of the discount given.
Time will tell.
Just like every prediction, take it with a grain of salt. Could be biased, but I think the Lions win easily.
They're tougher, smarter and more potent up forward. Not only that, but the Magpies wouldn't be in the Grand Final today with the horrendously biased umpiring that happened in the...
I for the life of me never saw this comeback happening, (9 game winning streak). For now, the resting of players where they get the week off next week before the finals seems unnecessary. I could be wrong. One week off rather than two where players could return stale, (unlikely but don't risk...
I totally forgot about Cerra and Cook's comments. I couldn't agree more about the mentality of accepting these crap results and still collecting a pay cheque.
Another example, Harry McKay refusing Fev's offer to help. Have a look at the results. They speak louder than anything. Here's a...
To all, it's with such sadness that this club we all love is in a state of utter confusion. From the board to the football that is being played. It's not only ugly, it's depressing.
For a club that is trying to be inclusive and all that other stuff with it's jumper promotions such as the...
Day wasn't worthy of a suspension surely? Momentum, wet conditions, other factors contributing possibly. Only seen it once, but it didn't look that bad.
Primary analysis from the train home.
Harry McKay late was epic. We held on. Far from perfect at the end. But, against the reigning premiers, without 2 of our best midfielders, take the W and go from there. Without Jeremy Cameron, we would have won that by 10 goals. He was ridiculous...
For a person of Sydney Stack's talent, it would be wise to investigate. If as stated above that he is unemployable, then so be it, no harm done.
However, with the soft cap being raised, hire Eddie Betts back in a similar role to what he has done for Stengle and if he can turn Stack around, then...
The pain is still real. Days after losing to the scum, it still hurts. Every analyst has had their say on our choke. And it's deserved.
How to fix the problem? That is the million dollar question. A variety of solutions could be given. Here's a potential list of what could be improved...
Can we catch a break?
Very unfortunate that nearly every tall is unavailable. If we manage to pull this off, it would show great character with every aspect against us. Coach in his last game, injuries galore particularly in one aspect. Pressure will need to be immense. Toughness isn't an...
Better coaching is one thing.
The will to compete and sacrifice for one another has been rapidly improved.
The desire to hunt in packs in the first half was impressive. Still, to have the maturity to control the tempo when required was very good.
There's still a lot of room for improvement...
Not really. Wasn't a trouble maker either. I just look at trends within the game last year and look at Melbourne last year and analyze accordingly. Because that's what their football was. Brutal, ruthless and selfless. It gets results.
I've never done any of these before. And probably won't again. But, I will go a different route.
1. Proper coaching panel who knows what they're doing
2. Better team ethos and hopefully selflessness from all players.
3. Better results from adopting prediction 2.
I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet so apologies if it has.
SPS to the West Coast seems like a logical fit. If we get a 2nd round pick, take it. I know this could come back to bite us and I understand.
However, SPS pressure ratings wouldn't be of an AFL standard. He's got skills...
Most of us are probably being sold way too much when it comes to Eddie McChins stating big news!!
It's probably just George Hewett going to find his way to Carlton via Free Agency.
Just guessing that we're being sold a massive announcement for something this minimal.
