Rumour Speculation, Rumours, Lies Thread 2026 - Part 2

Seems low IQ from what I've seen of him at AFL level - suppose most rucks are in the same boat. Haven't really been blown away by him. As for his last two weeks in the VFL, he can only beat who is put in front of him but it's worth remembering that Melbourne are also playing Heath at the...

    Warming to the 2028 version?

Rumour Speculation, Rumours, Lies Thread 2026 - Part 2

Call me crazy, but if I was only watching one game of footy a week, I'm not sure Carlton would be the neutral game of footy I'd choose to pick.

    Player Watch Sid Draper

I'd be more concerned if Draper had a full pre-season and this is where he was at. We know that's not the case and had a few issues last year too for memory (and draft year). This at least gives us a reason as to why he's not setting the world on fire at the moment. So at this stage the bar is...

Rumour Speculation, Rumours, Lies Thread 2026 - Part 2

I agree. Only issue is I can't think of many that are able to stay elite midfielders into their mid 30s which is where Neale basically is. He doesn't really have a backup plan if he falls off a bit, he's a mid only. If the next 1-2 years are our window then the fall off might be worth the risk...

Rumour Speculation, Rumours, Lies Thread 2026 - Part 2

Neale is still a gun but will be 33 next year. He's really only capable of playing one position on the ground, doesn't have height on his size either so can he still do it for 2-3 seasons that we would offer him? Seems he's a true professional when it comes to the game. Are there any examples...

Review R8: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly vs. Port Adelaide

We lead the entire 4th quarter outside of a 30 second window - whilst being 2 down, 1 sore and 1 just back from a LTI. Funnily enough they lost by under a goal to Hawks who currently sit second and pumped Geelong - fair to say Port's last couple of weeks have been pretty good. We're looking...

    Preview R9: Changes vs. Richmond

Yeah if his back isn't right, rest Thilthorpe. If it is right, maybe we'd be better off playing him and try get him into some form as he looked really shot for confidence tonight.

    Preview R9: Changes vs. Richmond

Pretty bad run with guys returning from injury going straight back out. ANB played through but guessing he's unlikely for Richmond now too?

    Preview R9: Changes vs. Richmond

So we should equally drop all the other midfielders that have been even worse this season then? Berry has probably been our most consistent midfielder this year. And that might be a reason why we are where we are, but that's not on him - that's on the other guys who aren't delivering like they...

To save the neutrals from whatever that first half of 'football' they showed us poor suffers.

Review R8: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly vs. Port Adelaide

Pretty damn good game. If he wasn't the best midfielder, who was? 100m more gained than the next best player on either side.

Pedlar is a footballer. Just need to get him into it more often.

If it's between the two guys from gettables or Jay Clark, I know who I'm valuing more. Hint, it's not Jay Clark.

Teams typically take the piss with positions on field, so wouldn't take much from that.

Preview R8: Changes vs. Port Adelaide

For the benefit of the team, without a doubt as we're bringing in someone else to cover it who offers so very little when we could have an extra runner in the team instead. But given how he's moved to start the season, not sure having him in there would be ideal. And if he was to get injured...

Player Watch Darcy Fogarty - Re-Signed to End of 2031

We're still no closer to figuring out how we fill the 2nd ruck spot. Only advantage of Fogarty missing (which even out of form, I'd still have him in the team) is we should be playing with one less tall overall.

Preview R8: Changes vs. Port Adelaide

Honestly wish we did more of it. I hate when I see one of our better kicks move it backwards to Butts deeper inside f50 who then basically kicks it to a 50/50 on the other side in a similar position to the guy that kicked it to Butts in the first place. May as well just kick it down the line and...

    Player Watch Brayden Cook

Not that I'm a fan of him deep in the backline but wonder if it was a bit of a trial for what he spent a bit of the pre season doing? Feel like he should probably be a winger now but if/when the other guys get back, perhaps there's a chance he plays more in the defensive half? Think that's...

Likely so - but I think Murray is someone we could risk more than Thilthorpe.

Preview R8: Changes vs. Port Adelaide

The output from our second rucks is so minimal, is it worth us using a spot in the team on it? Murray will crash the forward line packs as required and we need to throw someone in the ruck for cover. Would go at it hard but 195cm probably struggles given most teams 2nd ruck is decent. Outside of...

    Player Watch Brayden Cook

I get the point however I think I prefer him behind the ball where we can get him involved in the play more and use his kick to our advantage. As a forward he's not a target and is starved for portions of the game - which our other guys struggle with.

Preview R7: Changes vs. Brisbane Lions

A lingering back injury for over a month from a plane flight for a 23 year old? Agreed, feels like there would have had to have been another incident.
  29. dylan123

Preview R7: Changes vs. Brisbane Lions

Also, if Dawson did come in for Nank, how do we think our midfield rotation works? Was one of Peatling's better games, Berry worked his way into it in the second half. Rachele may have had a career high 81% CBA. Rankine just 10%. Would love to see Dawson across half back but probably more...

Preview R7: Changes vs. Brisbane Lions

Bit lost as to how/when Thilthorpe got so knocked up. From bigman's training reports, only recall him not timing his marking well but he was running/covering the ground well. We've also been rotating him through the midfield as recently as last week. Feels like back issues take longer than a...
