Just one of 16 other teams that I want to beat to get the next premiership. Would actually prefer to only have one showdown a year and have a annual rivalry with a Vic MCG tenant ie the Ingerson cup. Find them annoying that they seem so focused on us for whatever reason.
I am nervous though...
That’s what grinds my gears about their request. Showdowns are a rivalry, not their heritage.
I’d have no problem with them wearing the bars against any other team or round, like maybe their Anzac match, but they are trying to say it’s the right to wear them and what game to wear it in.
Beggars...
Since AO is obviously now the home of AFLW GF’s since the majority have been hosted here, the SA Govt should offer the AFL a couple of million to host the next 50 here, then you’ll hear the VIC media cry foul and how unfair it would be
They’re not recreational spaces though.
There are soccer pitches, basketball and tennis courts just across the underpass on Park Tce, but the closest footy ovals with goalposts is either Fitzroy across Torrens road or Thebarton across South road
Bowden an Brompton have a lot of young families...
I agree. I walked around the Thebarton site the other week and thought the potential of the site for the AFC is better than the Brompton site, and its likely that with 2 ovals it will have a better community benefit than a single oval at Brompton. Only issue to work out is the leasing...
Would be staggered if anything comes of this review if he wins the election. No way the crows put things on hold whilst this plays out. Even if the review did find a issue with weighting or transparency, they'd just reopen the tender all over again, rather than just make the Crows the winner...
AA are in a no lose situation keeping her on
The controversy will ensure the people who don't like her or trust her will listen to hear how she talks her way out of it, the people who don't care will listen either way.
They has some Allied Health options planned also.
Crows were always going to be behind the 8 ball given they didn't have the $'s to compete with housing development and it was pleasing to hear that they were very community and business focused in their plans but $'s win out. I can't help but...
As a resident, its doubly disappointing that their proposal wasn't accepted.
To then have to see the pics about what isn't going to be developed and seeing nothing about the winning proposal and why its good for the area sucks also
Local residents lose out on this decision also. Can't believe that MAB Corp will be providing better public spaces and community engagement with their 120 room hotel
I don’t and didn’t mean to suggest that i do.
What I was trying to say is that we need to provide the best tender that meets the RSA criteria so that they award the site to us as oppose to relying on Olsens pulling strings for us.
I’m hoping we get selected as the preferred tender, but think...
We need to get this because we are the best option that ticks the boxes on the RSA Masterplan of providing the area with a mix of greenspace, commercial, residential, honouring heritage and providing community engagement.
If we have to resort to string pulling to win it then that will open up...
What I like from both Olsen and Silvers is that they seem to be keeping it a professional relationship with the media, or at least 5AA. Used to be a whole lot of “Triggy” and Chappie” and “Fages” and mutual tug jobs going on. Now you hear them do that with “Kochie” and “CD” and “Richo” and the...
Absolutely sporting organisations and their facilities are good and necessary for the community and having a MCG sized oval in Brompton would be a nice addition to the area. I’d say its needed more than new housing that just adds more strain to power, water, roads, parking infrastructure and...
This is what I’ve been struggling with. I doubt any sporting organisation would find it easy to relocate now a days let alone one that is divisive to some people land one that doesn’t have a U12, U15 U18 teams that local kids can join. That’s why they need to do or offer something that makes...
I think they would prefer Brompton but I have never seen where they (Silvers and Olson) have intimated we are likely to get Brompton. Unless by club you mean SRowe & KG.
I think your report is for a townhouse development a street or 2 away from the sagasco site. It probably would have had gasco chemicals leeched to it though. Their remediation would be to concrete or pave over it basically.
