No point in us trading Ball because the offers from other clubs will be poor, yet we still rate him.
Too much value for us in other areas like leadership, discipline and spirit.
However, someone suggested Ball for Salopek in another thread. I have to say, I thought about it for a bit...
Complete James Hird convert here.
Thought he'd be a soft media persona, ala Glenn Archer.
He's been excellent OTC. Makes calls, is honest, says it how he sees it. Surprise packet.
It's interesting to note that in Hird, Voss and Buckley, they all made a seamless transition to the media and...
BigFooty logic:
Essendon beats St Kilda. Therefore Essendon > St Kilda.
Fremantle beats Essendon. Therefore Fremantle > Essendon > St Kilda.
You know it makes sense.
"Now we know what a win feels like." Umpires after Round 21, 2005.
Now this, in Round 21, 2009.
Déjà vu and then some.
Schneider was definitely punished for his clap. It's a shame, because it was clearly there.
But not only was it not paid, he got pinged for holding the ball. And...
Geez, you Internet People are flying today.
You'd think we'd been belted by 80 points.
We'll be fine. Not saying we'll win it, but we'll go very close.
No concern. Cannon fodder for the papers, On The Couch and BigFooty, but that's about it.
And have a look at the Internet People go wild!
Riewoldt kicks the goal last week & Schneider gets the free this week, and it's not even a discussion.
But that's why footy is great - and why you're all on here, furiously tapping away.
The free kick wasn't paid to Schneider?
And then the free kick wasn't paid to Armitage?
"What the...?" indeed.
Well done Kangaroos. We played badly, but - wow - what a massive umpiring mistake.
Certainly too much from our perspective to offer a player like Ball AND our first round pick for Kerr.
Kerr is a wonderful player who I would dearly love at St Kilda but I am concerned about injuries and how well he fits into the team environment.
If he proved a disruptive influence, it could...
Given only a handful of posters seem to be able to spell his name right, I doubt Sheahan would give even the slightest merit to what is posted on this board.
I remember seeing Lloyd giving Max an absolute bath on a Friday night in Round 14, 2003.
He kicked eight and mauled him.
I remember it, because it was the only time I can remember Max getting beaten since he became a full-time defender in 2001.
A few too many hamstrings have cost him...
Would love to get Kerr on our list - I absolutely love the way he goes about his footy - but I'm not sure how many players you can reform all at once.
We've got Schneider and Gardiner out of their tough times, and have also managed to extract the best out of Ray, King, Dawson and Dempster...
Fear nobody.
Respect many.
That's been our style each week. Whether it be Melbourne or Geelong, Collingwood or West Coast, you need to show the opposition respect.
If you don't, you'll get tripped up. Simple as that.
St Kilda supporters who understand football were gushing with praise for what Thompson did. It was a brave and smart decision. We've been panicking that Lyon wouldn't do the same thing - it looked as though he wouldn't for a long time.
He's not a genius yet, but he's certainly improving with...
Most of you lack the intelligence to understand football, so what you say here doesn't matter.
We're managing our list with the ultimate aim of winning a premiership. We're looking to generate outcomes that will enable us to achieve this. What you think about that does not matter to us.
Again...
Everyone once gave him stick, including St Kilda fans.
The recognition has failed to come but we don't mind that and neither does Milney.
If he gets the nod for All-Australian - which is becoming increasingly likely - then that would be a fair reward.
He's been absolutely outstanding and...
Re: Man falls from a balcony at the MCG today
Just absolutely horrified to hear somebody could go to the footy for a day out and not return home. So very, very sad. RIP.
Thoughts with his family, friends and everyone who knew him.
Bad call. The AFL has a sensible solution in front of them - deciding the draft order after round 16 - and could further tighten the belt to ensure clubs (such as West Coast) are not rewarded with a priority pick just three years (!) after winning a premiership.
But the chances of that...
