Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

North don't need any more priority picks. They have a plethora of elite young talents on their list. Right now they just need to develop them. A priority pick isn't going go help them for another three/four years (unless they end up being Sheezel, Reid or Naicos), unless they have to trade it...

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

Depends on the price. Can't go wrong with either, IMO. Maybe LDU is a better pure midfielder - more powerful, more tackles, clearances, etc. But Smith is better on the outside and has more scoreboard impact. I think we need someone like Smith more right now. Though if Worpel and/or Nash...

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

One thing I noticed that would be concerning for North fans. When Moore had his set shot at goal at the end of the second quarter, from about 25m out, he hooked around and snapped it. His kick wasn't a high one and crossed the line quite low, it could have potentially been touched, but there...

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

LDU would be a great pickup for any team. Can't see us going for him though given the midfield depth we have, and with Smith also potentially being added into the logjam. Unless one or two players end up leaving of course.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

One of my proudest moments was legitimately clogging one of the sh*tters at the, then, Telstra Dome. I did that in solidarity with everyone who hates that joint.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

    Fair votes IMO. Probably broken down like below, though the last two votes for each could be interchangeable. 5 - Newcombe 4 - Nash 3 - Moore 2 - Morrison 1 - Xerri 5 - Moore 4 - Newcombe 3 - Nash 2 - Impey 1 - Morrison

Yeah he's a better target than Heeney, as he is playing as a midfielder now and Finn won't get a chance to matchup with him at CBA's.

Should never be the sub again, getting full games into him is crucial. Hope he plays the HFF/midfield role from this point on in the season. If he can get the ball in areas where he's delivering it into the F50 then we are making the most of his talent.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

What were the HO to advantage stats for this game? Xerri dominated the numbers (HO and touches), but Meek was still good IMO and he kicked two goals. I thought it was a good contest between the two. Both big bollocking ruckmen, though Xerri seemed like an immovable object at times. He certainly...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn - Mabior Chol

I feel like the laziness stuff comes from him looking so relaxed, languid and unbothered when he's putting in effort. Mesut Özil used to cop the same treatment, despite him regularly being at the top of the KM covered charts each game. Just effortless movement.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn - Mabior Chol

He was absolutely moving yesterday, just churning up the track. Love how quick he is for someone his size. I thought he would really tire having to play sole KPF, presenting right up the ground, and then relieving Meek in the ruck. But Chol worked so hard all game.

    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

Day in. Hustwaite out. D'Ambrosio to sub. Would love Ward to come back in, but I'm not sure who comes out. Especially with Ward needing to play in the midfield.

    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

Had a good game bar one panicky kick into the middle which cost us a goal. I think he'll play a few games now. It certainly helped Scrimshaw and Frost peel off their players IMO.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

Finn could have had two more goals too. One was an absolute certainty when MacDonald marked but was held up, Finn was 30m in the clear streaming towards goals. I think he had another run with Sheezel trailing him that could have been rewarded, but wasn't. Playing this role will allow him to use...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Jack Ginnivan!

Love how hard he works defensively, that was never a feature of his game for Collingwood. He's really got himself fit enough to work up the ground and do the little team-things. He's been a brilliant pickup so far.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn, Changkuoth Jiath - 2017 category B rookie

Hopefully these persistent injuries don't rob CJ of his athleticism.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Pick 7, Cam MacKenzie, extends to 2026!

He's only playing sub 70% game time so far this season. Once he's fit enough to run out games and get some easy touches he will become such a weapon.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

Stephens can't get a kick at VFL level. He'd be at risk of being delisted to free up a MSD spot if clubs could do that.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

Nash is not normally that terrible by foot. He worked hard today and did the physical stuff that was a hallmark of his game last season. I trust he will polish up his kicking a little, and I suppose you can deal with the dumped up and unders when they're hurried clearances.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

    CBA breakdown, out of a total of 30 (max): 27 - Meek 25 - Nash 21 - Newcombe 20 - Worpel 15 - Mackenzie 8 - Moore 3 - Chol 1 - Hustwaite Loved seeing Moore in there. He's a real heart and soul kind of player and always provides a spark.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

Frost being sensational today takes nothing away from his previous good games. How many contests did he impact when peeling off his man? How many spoils? How many big hits and strong tackles. I don't recall him ever having a better game for us.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

Frost probably played his best ever game. Newcombe and Nash (atrocious kicking aside) both played really well and stood up when Worpel was quiet. Moore stood up like a real club leader. Impey had a great game. Edit: Morrison had a great game too. Edit: Scrimshaw also had a great game...
