Carrington was recently renovated I think. The Max has also been revamped and caters more to a younger crowd. The Commo (Kilgour St) and Sir Charles Darling are my pick for pub meals, otherwise The Edge is worth a try. Sailors' Rest is a good lunch/dinner option too - had a delicious and...
Good fixture. Have us 15-7 following a quick run-through (assuming reasonable luck on the injury front). Would almost certainly secure us top 4 if it's another weak year. If not, we'd still be well and truly in the hunt with that W/L ratio.
Richmond will be at the MCG to keep the "Tiger Army" happy. AFL won't want another "but, but, but we're a big 4 club!" tantrum. Hawthorn and Collingwood probably the other two IMO as I assume Essendon will be the home team for the Country Game.
Just hope we don't waste a game on...
For Geelong, you can lock in double-up matches against Gold Coast (Ablett factor) and Richmond. Well overdue to play the Tigers twice (last occurred in 2007) and they are the only other Vic-based club in the top 6. Probably Adelaide too as we've regularly doubled-up in recent years.
As for...
Reckon the double-ups will be:
Gold Coast - Ablett factor
Richmond - only other Vic side in this year's top 6, due to play them twice (last time was 2007)
St Kilda - another one seemingly overdue, likely risers
Adelaide - Dangerfield factor, have regularly played them twice of late, top 6...
Didn't miss a match in 99. Even racked up 35-odd touches in one particular game and kicked 4 goals in another if my memory serves me right. Wasn't great at the Swans, though, and barely featured in our improved 2000 side. One of those players who struggled in decent teams.
If, by some miracle, we win through to the GF against Richmond and are comfortably ahead with 5 minutes remaining, then simply return the favour. Provided nothing is violent, racial etc. in nature, taunt their fans mercilessly as they file out of the MCG. That's good enough for me.
First Goal: Smith
Last Goal: Parsons
Most Touches: Dangerfield
Most Goals: Dangerfield (4)
Most Marks: Henderson
Most Tackles: Menegola
Most Composure: J Selwood

Win next week (not an easy task, mind you) and we'll be playing off for a top 2 spot against GWS. Weren't certain posters raising the prospect of us missing the 8 altogether?
Serious thoughts on the game:
Brilliant work from our defence to continually force Richmond's forwards up the ground. Ensured there was no "out the back" stuff and made their smalls accountable. Full credit to Scott and our defensive unit.
Kolo was immense. Been an ardent critic of his, but...
For those not watching, both VFL sides have been very inaccurate. Probably an indication of what's to come. A scrappy, low-scoring affair would certainly suit given our lack of scoring power.
Tiger tears count for little,
This ground is our home.
It's our right to host you here,
And not at the 'G or Dome.
Wouldn't that be an awesome banner message for Saturday? Or something about the MRP?
In: Dangerfield, Menzel, Black*, Ruggles
Out: Hawkins (susp), Zuthrie, Buzza, Kolo
*Dependent on Hawkins missing, otherwise Motlop in for Parsons
Rushing back players following LTIs isn't ideal, but in the case of Ruggles I think it's necessary. Employing Friday's defensive setup again (five...
LOL at the Essendon muppet. Him and his cheating rabble are a disgrace to the AFL and can **** off.
We were coming until Sel went off. Once again, too stagnant from HB and too tall. Game is quite simply being lost through poor effort, decision-making and structures.
