Massive props to La Trobe footy club today. Managed to field a Reserves side for the first time in awhile and both teams fought it out all day despite the large deficits.
We have been in that position at Aquinas so we know how tough it can get, so well done for fighting it out.
Completely different to mine which is what I was hoping to see!
Ryder in the ruck for Port is a good selection.
Also glad to see Beams getting some love.
I chucked together this list pretty quickly and I’ve shared this to a few friends and they’ve already critiqued it pretty hard!
I.e Howe in for Stratton. Mitchell in for Pendlebury.
Jack Stevens in for billings. Toby Greene in for Coniglio.
Have a read and let me know what changes you would...

Early thoughts or predictions?
Aquinas are playing Park Orchards who play div 4 footy in the efl. Aquinas touched them up last year but can only assume PO have improved so will be interesting to see the difference between the two leagues.
Aquinas and SFX had a praccy on saturday.
Reserves score: Aquinas 12.12 – 84
SFX 2.4 – 16
Seniors: Aquinas 11.7 – 73
SFX 9.2 - 56
Both teams had a fair few players out from reports so gave both sides the...
Can anyone from La Trobe shed some light on their progress coming into round 1? Yet more importantly..how is your deck holding up? One of the better grounds in VAFA. Can't wait to play on it.
A few very handy young players have come across from the EFL to play alongside mates. Fair effort from the club considering they are in the middle of a strong league who are able to dish out money as they please. Could be a big season for the ringwood boys.
Yeah not sure about armfield in our square. Would chuck carazzo or robbo in.
Picked collingwood, however gold coast's midfield will be scary in a couple of year given ablett sticks around for the long haul.
Would love to see an upset between ivanhoe and yarra but I think the latter will be too strong, and can't see them repeating their efforts from last year. Yarra by 6 goals.
Going by last time they played, Aquinas seemed too quick for Uni and might expose them early. For those who watched uni v...
Went down to box hill to watch Kew v Aquinas. Game of the year. Aquinas got off to a great start kicking the first 4 goals of the game with a slight wind at aid. Score remained the same at qtr time, and Kew could only manage the single goal in the second quarter. With the wind in the 3rd and a...
Good write up. Hard to see YV dropping this one, although stranger things have happened! Ivanhoe the obvious choice to knock them off.
Although AOC have knocked off both Kew and UHS-VU in successive weeks. Form is a wonderful thing. Ivanhoe the only team they haven't beaten. Most likely prelim...
Aquinas vs Power house - too strong at home
Elsternwick vs St. Francis - High scoring, close affair with Elsternwick taking it out
Ivanhoe vs Old Westbourne - Could get ugly. A. Close to kick his 100th
Richmond vs UHS-VU - Game of the round. UHS just.
Albert Park vs Yarra Valley - Yarra to win...
3rd spot still up for grabs. Will make a very very interesting few weeks. Chances are Yarra will beat UHS this week. And if Aquinas win at home against elsternwick then the following round Aquinas vs UHS-VU could be the battle for 3rd spot. Kew still hovering around, not too bad of a draw...
