  1. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

I was interested to see how Knightmare rated our trade period. While some don’t, I do, as I respect his opinion. Those that have been on BigFooty long enough will know him well as he got his media start through his analysis of upcoming drafts here on BigFooty. As Melbourne fans, most years...

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

Will we have any rookie picks tomorrow? It’s much harder to work out these days with some lists running at different levels eg 38 primary & 6 rookie or 40/4
  4. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

I totally disagree. He has been selected at #3 on what he has predominantly displayed as a ruck! All this other talk about a KPF or pure midfielder is based on what? I’ll tell you what, on what he has done while rucking
  5. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

I’ve warmed to the Pickett selection & the only player picked after him last night that I would of liked was Kemp. Pickett clearly addresses a need which is a positive. A work colleague (Dees fan) of my mate has coached in WA at state & colts level. He believes Jackson is no doubt a huge talent...
  6. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

I wish Taylor had of just kept his mouth shut about a fortnight ago & didn’t mention Young, Jackson & Green Sydney kept their mouths shut on the players they were considering & made a slight surprise selection with Stephens at #5. That’s how smart clubs operate though
  7. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

Only issue being it won’t be for us, after we trade him for....... Magic beans
  8. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

Considering who we are widely tipped to draft early, who are we hoping to get with our pick 28? Sharp would fit a need for mine. Georgiades or however you spell his name Taylor or Williams possibly
  9. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

Jackson’s kicking efficiency was 64.7% at the carnival. Having watched his highlights videos (which is from the carnival) nearly everyone of his kicks could have just as easily been a turnover too. The getting rid of Gawn comment is nothing more than sensationalism on your behalf. We are...
  10. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

I reckon he looks like he kicks end over end mongrel punts.... Taylor is going all in if he takes two massive gambles on an undersized ruck & tiny small forward with two picks in the top 10. I hope in time to be proven wrong but this draft is going to have massive implications if he utensils it up

  12. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

Just bid on Green at #3. If Serong is still available at 10 surely we take him over the other small forwards being discussed as he can go through the midfield too. Is hard at it & is a leader too
  13. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

Im hoping for another year like 2018 when we were a high scoring team! 2019 was horrible but so were many parts of our game. Preferably, we need outside pace & blokes that can kick it well & can hit targets/score goals
  14. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

History says you don’t take rucks in the top 10 picks & history also says you don’t take small (tiny) forwards in the 1st rnd. There can always be exceptions to the rule but it is an enormous gamble to do one of these, let alone both in the one draft. Im happy to be proven wrong but doing...
  15. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

We don’t need an undersized ruck!!! We don’t need two small forwards!!! We need to draft the best player at each pick. Bid on Green at #3, if GWS match we go to the next best player. They will match the bid & if not we get a big bodied contested ball winning mid (that so call experts says...

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

In the latest video on AFL site - ‘On The Clock’ The last segment Lloyd & Twomey think we control the draft with picks 3 & 8. Twomey hasnt ruled out us bidding on Green at 3
  17. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

Even Knightmare thinks we are going with Jackson at #3 https://www.espn.com.au/afl/story/_/id/28095715/updated-afl-phantom-draft-first-three-rounds
  18. Punchy Demons

2019 AFL draft - Jackson at 3, Pickett at 12 and Rivers at 32

We should be bidding on Green at 3. GWS will match the bid anyway. My concerns with Jackson at 3 are multifaceted. Is he going to be a ruck/fwd or fwd/ruck? The talk is he is a ruck & at 198/199cms that is slightly undersized. It’s not the end of the world but in this day most rucks are getting...

Draft Watcher Snoop Dog 2018 Mock Draft

I like the look of Hamill. Is our current #28 (although likely to be more like 32/33) too early for him? We need some outside speed & quality ball users. A developing fwd/ruck would also be handy. I think we’ll take Bedford as an academy pick, likely around 40-50 range.

Analysis 2018 Melbourne SuperCoach - All welcome in Div 3, see post 87

I’ll play again. Been in div 1 the last 3 yrs I think from memory. From memory I think I finished mid table & made an early exit from the top 8 finals User name: Punchy Demons.

Might be a stretch but I’d look at taking De Koning with our last pick. Will take time but at Fwd/Ruck would be very handy

List Mgmt. 2016 Draft discussion - PSD & RD Monday, Nov 28 4pm

Hoping we pick up Tyler Keitel (194cm/91kgs) as that KPD. Averaged around 19 touches a game in the WAFL & is only 20/21 years old. Think he played as a KPF as a junior too so would offer flexibility. Ruck stocks are pretty low by the look of things. It's either an experienced ruck, eg Minson...

Gee I was hoping to get Myles Poholke & Darcy Cameron.... Hopefully both guys we drafted have long & distinguished careers with us though

Draft Watcher Knightmare's 2016 Draft Almanac

Hey KM, Thoughts on Tyler Keitel as a late pick for those looking for KPD? Think he would suit us but also a number of other clubs Also thoughts on Darcy Cameron? (been mentioned yr on end for the last 3-4yrs) Has he done enough to be drafted/rookied this time around?

Agree to Disagree. As outlined in previous post. We traded 2016 first for weideman
  27. Punchy Demons

Draft Watcher Knightmare's 2016 Draft Almanac

Think you are wrong there. If my memory is right we started with #6 & #29 (2015 ND) traded that to GC for #3, 10 & our 2016 1st rnd pick. We then traded #10, #40 something & #60 something to GWS for #7 & Tom Bugg We ultimately selected #3 Oliver & #9 Weideman (as we were bumped two spots...

Draft Watcher Knightmare's 2016 Draft Almanac

KM, I haven't followed this years draft class as closely as past yrs (maybe because it now isn't the highlight of the yr for long suffering Dees fans) but I'd like to get your take on last yrs 1st rnd picks & how they would compare to this yrs? Where would they all sit in a combined draft? On...

Minson is much better player than Spencer. I'm all for getting some ruck insurance & Minson as a rookie would tick that box.
