    Injury HFC Injury watch 2024

Why do supporters need to know the second it happens? The club's priority when a player is injured is the player, their rehab, and how it affects the club and team. Besides, there are a heap of variables that need to be accounted for. Scan might show an injury, but can they still play with that...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Josh Ward. Extends to 2025!

Sat a few rows behind him at a live recording of the Rest is History podcast, probably the last place in the world you’d expect to see an AFL footballer.

    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

Breust was on radio yesterday and didn’t sound too confident for next week. Said maybe Swans or game after. Given that, reckon we’re cautious.

Autopsy Round 6, 2024 : Hawks skittle Roos

People use calendar time to mark how long it’s been between wins all the time. There is a twitter account dedicated to how many days since Essendon won a final. She’s not my favourite commentator at all but why criticise her for things other media people say all the time.

No Oppo Supporters General AFL discussion and other club news

I don’t think clubs will bottom out the way we and north have moving forward. The competition is so much more even these days, and the best clubs are no where near as dominant or talented as they were in the past. With a good age profile in your list, good development of youngsters and moneyball...

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

Like many in footy analysis, they get laughed at when they’re negative about the hawks and lauded when they’re positive. FWIW they’re super smart guys who talk about the game intelligently and are able to back everything they say up with data. Data can’t measure everything in footy though and...

Acres not even in the top 5 by any metric. Have a listen to Hoyne on SEN earlier this evening where he breaks it all down and explains why Mass is no.1 in the comp currently.

News Hawthorn in the media 2024

Hodge on SEN fairly reasonable before. Says we’re still rebuilding and long way to go. Sam is trying things and obviously frustrated but all understandable. No real depth in squad and unable to weather the current injury load. Poor starts are the most frustrating thing. We’re 5.14 for all...

News Hawthorn in the media 2024

The tackling stat has me perplexed. We are getting slammed each week in this metric, a stat we actually did ok in in the first 5 weeks of last year even in the games against Sydney and Geelong where we got smashed. Suggests we are just not working hard enough.

Autopsy Round 5, 2024 - Suns destroy hopeless Hawks

I don’t think we’re doing this at all. The message from the club has consistently been “no limits” and players will be picked on merit. Sam clearly wants to win. We’re not trialling things and playing people out of position for development’s sake.
