2026 Trade/Free agent targets for HFC

I believe his family are in Adelaide though and that's partly the pull there. Regardless, Adelaide have had a deal in front of him for quite some time and are supposedly quite far down the line with him.

2026 Trade/Free agent targets for HFC

Posts like this grind my gears. Ignore the fact we picked up Barass and Battle who were borderline A Graders. If you listen to our ITK posters (and Morris), Smith and Petracca both wanted Hawks, whilst Merrett would have been a Hawk had it not been for a black swan event at the death. We are...

    Preview Round 9, 2026: Fremantle v Hawthorn, 7 May 2026, 8.10pm AEST @ Optus Stadium

I think the odd one is fine, particularly when someone says something daft, but spraying them on a number of posts one after another in the same thread like that poster did without any follow up is poor etiquette. It’s a discussion forum and healthy debate is great. If you don’t agree let’s...

barbster feel free to offer some constructive argument why you disagree with a heap of posts in this thread rather then just spraying the 👎🏻 button like a child.

    Preview Round 9, 2026: Fremantle v Hawthorn, 7 May 2026, 8.10pm AEST @ Optus Stadium

All our talls struggled on Thursday. Pies were very good defensively and flooding our F50 all game. None of our forwards could find their normal rhythm. I’m excited by Will but he doesn’t offer anything Dear doesn’t. Better to keep the side settled until Chol is right in a couple of weeks.

2026 Trade/Free agent targets for HFC

I don’t think he adds anything to our squad except for depth and he’s not gonna come to us to be another fringe player. We need an A grader and in the unlikely chance we can’t pull that off then let’s keep getting games into Ward, Frenchy, Dalton, Greaves etc.

Autopsy Round 8, 2026: Hawks bottle it

By every metric except goal conversion, that’s a 5 goal + win. Pies recorded the highest converting goal kicking / f50 ratio in the history of the game. We play that same game 100 times and we prob win 99.

Autopsy Round 8, 2026: Hawks bottle it

I wouldn’t call myself a Finn fan, but he came in last week and had 24 touches and kicked 2 goals. Hard to drop him after that. Plus he’s been getting 30+ at Box Hill every week. He offers physicality and running power that Sam likes. He’s inconsistent though and disposal lets him down. He...

Autopsy Round 8, 2026: Hawks bottle it

We need to do better though on the turnover. They had a shot at goal from almost every entry, that's not in Sam's gameplan.

Any reason why Gunston was off for the last bit of the game? Seemed strange to have him on the pine with Sicily who couldn't walk up forward.

Autopsy Round 8, 2026: Hawks bottle it

We were incredibly wasteful but statistically, that should have been a 30 point win by every metric. Pies took their chances at an insane level, however, they dominated us across half back, and almost all their goals came from turnovers in their D50 where they were able to move the ball at...

When the Pies are kicking everything from any angle, Weds just simply has to kick those. Bad kicking is bad football.

We concede a lot of loose play shots at goal 35 out dead in front. Similar last week when GC kicked all those goals from a similar position.

Bloody hell that’s frustrating. They’re killing us at ground level in our forward 50, whilst they’re getting a shot from 35 out every time they go into their forward line.

But we’re not linked to him. Adelaide have a super high offer in front of him that we won’t offer. He wants to stay with Brisbane but it’ll come down to whether they can increase their offer.

No Oppo Supporters General AFL discussion and other club’s news - Part 10

Just another example of the AFL trying to be too clever and getting in its own way. Dill or Greg Swann will be out there announcing what you've suggested which is the most logical thing, probably mid season again, sometime next year.

I think the more challenging this will be bringing over Humphrey. If we go hard at Hunphrey and he nominates, GC aren't going to let King walk to us as well.

No Oppo Supporters General AFL discussion and other club’s news - Part 10

Not to jinx things, but the fixture starts to open up for us pretty soon. Tough games at Freo, Brisbane, GC away, but pending no injuries, we’d start strong favourites in just about every other game. That said, the comp is super even, and we saw with Port last week, every team can give it a...

Autopsy Round 7, 2026: Hawks destroy Suns

Yes the stand where the camera footage would usually be taken is completely demolished. As is the larger stand on the opposite side of the field. Took some getting used to, a lot of 90s games were still shot this way at certain grounds.
