You know how season one felt like a book? This season has that kind of quality about it.

True Detective season 3 is much more like season 1 than the previous effort.

I just started watching this with my boy. Figure it's time he got acquainted with one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

I heard Pucovski was in last night. Nothing on Renshaw.

True Detective Season 3 airs this Sunday. After a brilliant first season, a beautifully shot but empty second season, I'm hoping this is a return to form.

Agreed. I reckon Warner will be back in for the Ashes and partnered with Harris, which means that Renshaw won't be back for the foreseeable future. Might play the Sri Lanka tests and go to England but short-term, runs or not, can't see him cementing anything. To be honest, I'm not convinced...

Second season of Sinner on Netflix is good. Good cast and well acted. Loses a bit of steam and becomes a little predictable towards the end but worth watching.

What a terribly disappointing day of cricket. So many wickets just thrown away due to lack of technique/application. Please let this be the last time that S Marsh plays for Australia. And the Indians worked out very quickly that Lasagna plays around his front pad.

Great that the openers made it through. And lovely of Pant to drop that catch too!

This guy made the point that he thought bowling machines were good if you wanted to reinforce something - i.e. move the foot to the ball - and repeat it consistently. This bloke was also incredibly frustrated and bemused by the recent selections. Thought that the Marnus selection was one of...

He made the interesting point - and I've seen it myself - that feeding bowling machines and 'power positions' have seemingly become the batting coaching norm in many junior environments. He made the point that bowling machines have a place but they don't coach or impart skills.

Met a former first class cricketer last night - both of our sons were doing some specialised training at one of the clubs. This guy has been out of the game since around 2000. Anyway, he was going on about the state of Australian cricket (of course he was). He said the rot goes right back to...

I feel that the whole selector/coaching staff system and personnel need to be rigorously evaluated. All of the corporate side of acb has been put under the microscope and massive changes ushered in.... I reckon the same kind of scrutiny needs to be applied to selectors/coaching stuff. After...

Ed Cowan on Marnus' selection: “It’s a selection that actually dumbfounds me a little bit,” Cowan told ABC Grandstand. “Someone who didn’t really earn their position for the UAE — was a bit a bit of a bolter, didn’t really do much apart from roll out a few leg breaks, hasn’t had a great...

It does seem like that, yes. I can't see any real turn-around happening in Sydney. We just dont have the cattle. The first Ashes test is onlt 3 tests away - reckon we have to start planning for that now.

It's totally baffling... weakening an already fragile batting line-up with playing someone who can't really bat or bowl. If we were a little stronger in the top six, you'd be parking Travis Head at six to learn his test craft. Or if he didn't to slink back to Shield cricket.

I'm not sure that the young Queenslander is the answer to replace Mitch Marsh. His numbers aren't great - with bat and ball - and he hasn't - played fpr a month. I wish him all the best but don't have much confidence he'll offer much more than Mitch Marsh. In the absence of a genuine...
