Game Day Round 7 vs. Essendon, MCG, 3:20pm ANZAC Day 25/04

If that's the case, great recognition for him. Macrae hasn't really taken his chances but has been considered the next up for a while now.

Anything to be read into Sullivan as emergency over Macrae?

List Mgmt. 2024 Mid Season Draft

I don't think another ruck is at the point of necessity. Frampton is still an option. Dean seems to be rated highly and could get another chance in defence if Billy needed to fill in at some point. Another option is to go with one ruck. Not really an issue if short term. On the more desperate...

Game Day Round 7 vs. Essendon, MCG, 3:20pm ANZAC Day 25/04

Assume inclusion of HH is sub rotation. Allows us to expose another young player and give Reef a full game in the VFL. Don't think Reef has done much wrong with his opportunities.

Toast Round 6 = Collingwood 123-81 Port Adelaide

Power's midfield gets talked up a lot, but their defensive running is poor. As long as we keep up in clearances we usually have them. It's why players like Hosk and Pat were able to get on top. Very impressive win, pretty much a repeat of last year despite the slow (possibly bye induced) start.

No solace for the Dees here, even down on expected score 😅

Swans too good. Dees attacking concerns remain. Grundy clearly outplayed Gawn. 21 disposals 9 clearances. Gawn 17m gained.

List Mgmt. 2023 National Draft prospects

If we have concerns about Murphy's short term future or our KPD cover - I personally don't have much concern - then SSP was always a better option than the draft. A drafted tall would not be ready for a few years at least. A more mature tall as KPD cover makes a lot more sense than a super...

    Player Watch Tew Jiath

Reported we were keen on Khamis and Doedee, so medium defender is a need we've been looking to address. Not as aerially adept, but chance to be a Howe replacement, 188cm to Howe's 190cm. Anyone who wants us to draft talls to address short term needs, remember they'll take 3+ years to play in a...

    Player Watch Harry DeMattia

A good combination of attributes with pace, power and IQ. Again we go with pace. Definitely looks a fit for nu-Collingwood.

They had one end of first round compensation pick this year and two next. Because next year's picks would be reviewed I think there was some trading into this year. I'd have to check the detail.

These three North compo picks really are indefensible. Especially that they aren't even at the end of the first round. Rewarding planned incompetence and hurting clubs who are actually trying to win.

Alex Condon (Future Cat B Candidate?)

Condon has gone to America to try and make the NBA, he's also signed with Collingwood as a backup plan. This suggests he's pretty strongly set on a professional sporting career. Maybe he really likes learning, but on the available evidence I'd say sport is his priority. Given that, I think...

    News Collingwood News & Media

If you're trying to work out the best club across men's and women's competitions then you have to weight the women's games higher as they play less. Same prize money for both, so should have equal impact on the outcome.

Player Watch Jack Ginnivan (Traded to P&W 2023)

The amount of times Ginnivan's manager used "read the room" in an interview about why Jack left, indicates that he didn't leave on the best terms and that the races appearance, and McRae's reaction, was part of it. Both his manager and Jack have already taken digs at it.

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion 2023

High level take: good trade period but not ideal. Lost a best 22 player, brought in another who is younger. Big tick. Lost a fringe young, AFL capable, player brought in no one. Small cross. Ideally we'd have brought in another young player with Ginnivan going out. Instead we replenished our...

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion 2023

A fringe player who became more fringe with another small forward being added is seeking a trade. Ok. Hopefully we're able to make one more deal this trade period, probably to sure up defence in case Murphy has to call it a day at some point in the next year.

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion 2023

True. Plus Wright himself said his pressure is the main reason for signing him. He can kick goals but he's not a great offensive player. He is a great defensive player. A nice kick for goal, a strong runner and pretty good aerially means he will get his fair share of goals but it's not the best...

Their Pendlebury lite also retired, full strength Pendles is still going for us. Their second level players largely disappointed. That's a risk for us if our older players drop off a cliff, Pendles, Mitchell, Elliott, Howe, Sidebottom, the main ones to be wary of. I think they have another year...

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion 2023

Schultz is a very good and important get. We needed to replace Adams and soon, Elliott. He's much closer to Elliott than any others on our list. Small forwards are very important in our game plan and Schultz is also capable up the ground. We did pay a little overs and trading a future first is...

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion 2023

It still leaves us with a weaker list. Not something we should be allowing for a minor pick discrepancy in a trade. Any replacements for Adams within our list are young and very unlikely to perform at the level of Adams or Schultz. We also then have one less best 22 capable player overall. Both...

Also, as a free agent you'd have every cashed up garbage team offering more money and he'd be tempted. Still, most importantly, we can't afford to miss out on bringing in a best 22 option for next year. We're contending again and need to give ourselves the best chance. The deal will happen...

List Mgmt. COLLINGWOOD Trade and F/A Discussion 2023

Don't think waiting another year is acceptable for us. We need the strongest list possible next year. Having lost a best 22 player, we need to bring one in. Waiting is really not an option.

I'm sure the Schultz deal will be done. Our first was reported to be on the table early so Freo were always going to ask for, and get, more. Question will be how much more. I doubt we give up our future first but a second round pick of some type could be involved with something coming back...
