AFL Player # 1: Andrew "Pidge" McGrath (Vice-Captain)

I think the improved kicking has come about by banning himself kicking around corners. As in, he's been told to back himself and run, bounce and carry, break the line, then kick when in space. it's a huge improvement He does need to be told he doesn't need to bounce after taking 3 steps though 😅

If he can do what he did yesterday, consistently… oh boy! Would have liked to kick that goal from the Langford spot too, after the 50m

Get on him for the Brownlow 🥇 Leads by example, so consistent. Has gone up a level. His interview with Buckley showed him to be a great bloke too

Great last quarter, but really good for the whole game too Had his obligatory biting off more than he could chew moment for the Mihocek goal, but he’s obviously got license to thrill. That goal in the phone booth in the last - 🤩

I’m eating my words with McGrath. He’s been mostly fantastic this year. He s**t Hill down after half time and created plenty from half back Maybe he’s finally found his role, maybe it’s the contract year? Either way, he’s found his place in defence and I like him there

AFL Player #22: Sam Durham - Pendlebury confesses to soiling himself - 26/5

Love him. He’s the kind of glue guy you need to be a good side. Might even be better than a glue guy too, let’s see. Tough as nails Edit - thread banner needs an update. Looks weird him tackling a North Goldy 😝

AFL Player #33: Alwyn Davey Jr - Lindsay Griffith Rising Star

Pressure is fine, but he can’t stay in the team for his pressure alone. Needs to find more of the ball, as he often looks like making something happen when he has it Nick Kommer MK2 at the moment. Not sure he will be able to stay in the team when we get Guelfi and Perk back.

AFL Player #32: Ben "Buckets" McKay - Worth every penny

Looked really shaky under the high ball a few times yesterday. Missed some chances to take an intercept mark or get a fist in. Had a complete fresh airy at one stage which may have led to the Harrison goal? A player of Mihoceks size and speed should not be beating McKay. I have actually been...

Twice he got the ball tonight from and mark and a free kick and I thought “oh good, we can gain some field position” Looked down at my dinner, looked up, and it was in port Adelaide hands both times Pretty sure both were sideways kicks too. Absolutely shocking game, pretty disappointed with...

Game Day Round 4 - Port Adelaide v Essendon, Adelaide Oval, Friday 5/4/24, 8.10pm AEDST

The problem with talking about the “edge” and committing to be hard at the contest for 4 quarters, is the assessment when we don’t play that way We did for 1.25 quarters. Since then, some of the efforts have been downright embarrassing. Not too many to hold their head up.

    AFL Toast Win Against Saints

Agree 90% - the first half especially was like a funeral home. However, when the game gets hot - like it did in the last quarter when we were coming, the atmosphere was great.

    AFL Player #25: Jake Stringer

Great start to the season from Jake. It was obviously critical for him to get and stay in shape, which he has done. touch wood - it stays that way Very pleased to see his defensive efforts, as well as the mecurial stuff that not many in the comp are capable of

Delisted #17: James Stewart - Will be delisted despite having a year on his contract - 24/8

when fit, he's been an average forward, and a below average defender, capable of terrible brain fart moments. he's had the best part of 2 years in rehab. that's not going to get better. i don't mind giving him a game or two this year if he's actually fit, but wouldn't ben surprised if he was...

    Preview Round 7: Essendon vs Geelong - Sunday 30th April - 1:10pm - MCG

it wont matter who plays on Cameron and Hawkins if it comes in like it did in round 1 last year. we need to win the contest in the middle to have any chance. i think we are a chance of that. like the Pies though, the Cats are not out of any game, so 3 good quarters will not be enough

i feel like he has the talent to be our best player in a year or two he needs to work on his fitness and finding some easy ball, but i think he's got all the natural gifts to be an absolute star

5 day break, against a team we can’t really beat, they have 2 in form tall forwards when we only have 1 fit senior KPD If we win, it will be our best in many years.
