All reports are better than good as far as Caddy's pre-season, I think the club would know the state of his condition and from what has been seen things are looking exceptional.
I would've thought if the club knew the condition was debilitating he would've been operated on last year without fail.
That's my impression of the both as well F2G, when I saw McCarthy playing seniors he looked dangerous for us every time he went near the ball, should've kicked a couple that day but didn't.
But Gregson is more "run and carry" with "slice and dice!"
Doesn't kick enough goals?...I think you're forgetting it was his first year as a draftee, I think from what we saw he's well ahead of schedule, McCarthy needs to prove he can stay on the park first and foremost, then we'll make comparisons.
In any case Lincoln is a classic forward pocket...
When I see training shots of Scott and Joel I always imagine Scott to be Joel's older brother and not the other way around.
You're right JD, he does have quite a few years left if that ankle holds up. If that's the case we have a beauty to go with Joel and Patrick.
Not really wanting to re hash, I know enough said, but "Bobby" has posted a few out of character lately I reckon. "Respect your insights on young players F2G" wouldn't let him bother you to much mate, he's just bored I think.
GHS wasn't a top 10'er by a long shot when drafted as we know, was a long term project when we were a power, doesn't surprise me though that he started ripping it when fit last year.
Could well be a breakout player in 2016, time will tell.
I agree!....Let's give him half a chance before we start passing judgement. ...His development is only now maturing for his senior level role and inside mid is one of the toughest.
JD, Do you reckon GW would've finished 3rd in that time trial pre-Christmas?...Not a chance, just like the others didn't. GHS has enough get up and go to do "OK" at what he does best, "inside mid". (he's got the engine)
Last year proved we were terribly short of inside players, I think he's...
I'd like Jackson Thurlow in the leadership group as a representative of younger players, I think he's ready for that responsibility having proven himself as a role model in his development and dedication to his physical condition.
The young guy deserves the honour after battling back to play top...
From recent photo's he's looking bigger than his first year by a good bit, I imagine if his form continues where it left off they'd have to put him in the mix.
I quite like his build, reminds me of a particular ex club champ.
At this stage of his career Kolo doesn't equal Hendo for mine either, but at every given opportunity I'd be writing his name into that defence to ensure his development didn't stall, opportunities are my only concerns about him.
So impressed with Jackson Thurlow, he's Enright and Mackie rolled...
I'm not against him starting forward, I mentioned defensive side only because he'll get more ball and start building good average game stats, if I'm critical on him a little it's his possession numbers atm.
Small forward is sometimes starvation corner especially for a kid, but I'm expecting him...
I thought it was best young player award, anyhow he did very well at times and will be a positive I think wherever they play him, defender/defensive mid might see him more involved.
Might be getting carried away by reserves form but Ruggles has the run and carry I want from a small defender, he's a strong body not unlike Bews, I think he'll be elevated sooner than later.
Hey it's not such a dumb idea, if we move first we get what we want, well not for some I suppose but we get what the club wants.
Better than that, a celebrity putting his or her own spin on it.... desperately trying to be different. As long as it's not "The Land Down Under." A big NO from me...
Right now "clear best 22" on Cowan is a very big call. Years ago if fit he might've been, but that's just might, 2016 is just like starting over here we go again.
Luckiest bloke in Geelong.
One of the Hawks main weapons in big games and finals has been their versatile ruck division, very underrated but extremely effective stretching defences and assisting their on ballers in general play.
Hopefully with a healthy list of talls we'll be able to apply similar vexation to opposition...
Thought he was going to be our Stephen Milne, he looked the goods for a few fleeting moments but I don't think it'll happen unfortunately.
Forget the game, but he ran rings around defenders that day, never goaled but looked very dangerous, it's really stiff for the bloke.
