Prediction Round 6, 2024: Changes vs Fremantle

Rotham hasn’t been perfect as he’s slightly over kicked on a couple of occasions but his game has improved and he is getting back to his early form. He should stay in the side

Autopsy Round 4, 2024: Positives and Negatives vs Sydney

He’s been ok on the long ball in. He has also been getting lost and loose with his player when the forward entry has some precision. Hell learn but has a way to go. Understandable as he’s been a ruck, plus injured most of his career.

    Worked alright in 2018

Prediction Round 3, 2024: Changes vs Western Bulldogs

With Oscar out, we can't just experiment with B Williams as a key forward. He is the only fit ruck we have capable of halving contests. He did OK when he went on the ball but was a fish out of water as the key forward. J Williams is young and also needs time but at the moment he is the best...

    Totally agree.

Autopsy Round 2, 2024: Positives and Negatives vs GWS

Not sure that's right. Last year and even last week his turnovers from the backline resulted in goals to the opposition. If he stuffs up a kick or fumbles in the backline it's invariably a goal. The answer of course is to tidy up disposal not shift him as he does have skils

Autopsy Round 2, 2024: Positives and Negatives vs GWS

On the plus side, Duggan improved his kicking and actually hit a few targets. Briggs was far too big but Barnett competed well. The difference in footy IQ when Maric, Brockman, Reid and Hunt get the ball is noticeable. Long also to a degree.

Prediction Round 2, 2024: Changes vs GWS

You know there is only about 6 weeks difference in their age? In addition Williams probably has to play key forward

Toast Andrew Gaff - 250 Games

Ok then, he was invisible except for the times he wasn’t and then he was bad

Toast Andrew Gaff - 250 Games

I don’t think you watched close enough. There were a few times the ball came his way and he fumbled it or even clean missed it. He did chase hard but simply did not have the pace to catch the port players involved

    Gaff mark 2?

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2024

Exactly. Traditionally the run with players are the ones who have the midfield skills but for some reason don't get enough of the ball. The run with role not only nullifies the effectiveness of the opposition player but also keeps them in the play and teaches where they need to be to get the...

Game Day Preseason Game 1 - West Coast vs Adelaide, Sat 2/3 : It’s Melt Day

Spot on. He turned into a player without confidence who immediately stopped when he got the ball and kicked either to the side or back. He had the pace, size and kick to take the game on but obviously had been told to hold the game up and play safe. That's alright when you can set up a feed to...

Game Day Preseason Game 1 - West Coast vs Adelaide, Sat 2/3 : It’s Melt Day

Rather have Sheed (if fit) than Gaff any day. You can’t have both in the same team but Sheed is way more damaging with kicking and attack than Gaff. He has to be fully fit though as last year the few games he played he simply couldnt keep up

Game Day Preseason Game 1 - West Coast vs Adelaide, Sat 2/3 : It’s Melt Day

Today Bailey just couldn’t reach the ball but I noticed last week that when he was getting taps the mids were on the wrong side of his approach. He would have to have turned his hand to swipe backhand to reach them. As a result his taps, when he got them, went to the opposition

Game Day Preseason Game 1 - West Coast vs Adelaide, Sat 2/3 : It’s Melt Day

I agree he made good decision but just doesn’t get enough of the ball

Game Day Preseason Game 1 - West Coast vs Adelaide, Sat 2/3 : It’s Melt Day

These umpires have been terrible. There is no effort to get rid of the ball when tackled and they just don’t pay the kick. High tackles are guesses and in the back is the same. Easy money, just run around the park and have a guess every now and again

Keystone cops stuff. Four rucks in the squad yet none of them available for the centre bounce

Game Day Preseason Game 1 - West Coast vs Adelaide, Sat 2/3 : It’s Melt Day

Every time he gets it he has turned it over either directly or just a dolly hand ball or kick putting his team mate under pressure

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2024

That’s the thing. Our experienced players who should have been holding things together to allow the younger players to be exposed to AFL games gradually, were out injured or banged up and couldn’t get a run. The lack of players in the WAFL side made the situation worse so inevitably the side...

He needs to tidy up disposal. No good breaking lines then turning the ball over. He did improve on this in his last couple of games but needs consistency

Training Preseason Training Thread - 2024

The good thing about Duggan playing as a mid is that we don't get hurt so much by his occasional shanks coming out of the backline. I've been watching some of our games this year on repeat and he plays well but it's surprising how many easy turnovers he has near goal which gifts the opposition a...

    Prediction 2024 Positional Depth Charts

On the other hand, Sheed had a bad injury and a stuttering return due to more injuries. He also makes more attacking positions and is a damaging kick. Gaff, as you say, gives his all but even this is not particularly inspiring. A comparison has him at similar pace as Sheed but far less damaging...
