I see Lockett has been mentioned in the thread but when a game needed to be won, Carey stood up and helped his side win with either individual brilliance or great team play. When North played Geelong I was always worried about Ablett doing something spectacular to change the game in Geelong’s...
Ablett was great to watch, could do it all and spectacularly, his highlights reel is awesome. Carey was a great leader of men and helped his team get over the line time and again. Individually Ablett was better he’s one of the best I’ve seen but for the team and his team mates, Carey was better.
We’ll enjoy it, thanks, been a while. Hopefully our No.1 draft pick can be as good as the Blues premiership player and No.1 draft pick Marc Murphy. Oh wait…..
They might be, but we’ll get Horne this year and with the progress of LDU, Simpkin, Thomas, Phillips, Powell, we’ll be alright going forward. The Roos will be just fine.
I was fortunate enough to see all 3 players as mentioned by the OP play live. I’m biased towards Wayne Carey but as a opposition supporter, Gary Ablett Snr was better than Plugger in my opinion. Gazza was awesome in the air or on the ground and he could turn a game Geelong’s way in no time.
If Collingwood played every home game there, why not? But if they played minnow clubs there but all the big clubs at the “G” to accommodate crowd numbers then no. Simple really.
Vote with your feet. Boycott all MCG games. It’s not fair it costs you home games at Kardina Park. Why should North have to play at Kardina Park and not Hawthorn, Collingwood and Essendon year after year. It’s not what our fans want and we ask the AFL for all home and away games against Geelong...
Yes you can! North said “No” to the AFL about relocation to the Gold Coast. Geelong can say “No” to MCG home games against Hawthorn, Collingwood and Essendon.
If Geelong played all their home games at Kardina Park, then they should get a home final. But that means playing Collingwood, Essendon and Hawthorn down there as well as us plebs and not at the MCG. Currently, Geelong play Easter Monday home games against Hawthorn at the “G“, home games against...
North, Carlton and Essendon have the longest GF droughts. I like the North v Essendon 2019 GF smoky tip. 1999 feels like forever, it was a good day though. ;) Adelaide, North and Essendon to rise next year.
And then.......the Perth teams, Qld teams, NSW and Adelaide teams would all want to join our new Victorian league as theirs is now floundering. History would be repeating itself.
Bye Bye! I love the idea. Then the rest of us victorian clubs can start a new league of our own and maybe call it the VFL, having no interstate franchises complaining about this and that. Sounds like a plan kaisercheif13, do it!!
The thread title “At what point will the criticism for the Swans/Buddy come?” is why I’m isolating Franklin for criticism. He was lucky to be in the AA side ahead of Brown/Hawkins IMO and then he was made Captain! As a star of the game the scrutiny on his performance was coming and he didn’t...
We tired to move a couple of our home games that’s true. It didn’t work, but we were never going to relocate there unlike South Melbourne who did. There’s a difference. Same as with Tassie, we are happy to play 3 or so home games down there, but we are never going to move there. I was giving a...
Concern about our club’s plight has already been noted Ed. Thanks, but as I mentioned, unlike South Melbourne giving up the fight, we won’t and we’ll be alright here in Melbourne.
Can’t argue with that Gong. The Swans have been up for a very long time, that’s why it makes sense to rebuild but.......the old fashioned way, with no COLA this time.
