Disappointing result last night, but god it's good to be watching footy again. We've got a couple of bona fide stars and a lot of young players finding their feet – lots to like and should only get better from here!
I've been watching the finals series quarter by quarter on the treadmill, and I swear the last quarter of this game is an out-of-body experience. When Boyd steals the ball in the backline and sets off *that* chain ... footy absolutely peaked on this day
I go back and forward between a bunch of them really, so in the end I have no strong preference. Happy to go with whatever name pops up the most in the thread.
We've got four picks in the top ten now, so I think a huge part of our fortunes in 2020 will come down to whether or not we nail the draft. Wouldn't say no to another Irish import or two either.
Hear hear! He had a couple of pretty impressive cool-headed bits of play, got into a bit of push and shove, really tried to take the game on a few times where nobody else seemed interested. A massive improvement over only five games and can't wait to see where he goes next.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Libba warming up with the forwards. Then we had Williams and Gowers in at centre bounces, Naughton, Dunkley and Bont in the ruck. Two talls in the entire side, both of them babies in AFL terms. Two newbies in for their first games. I'm all for flexibility...
Watching the game yesterday the players I wished we had in were Suckling, Moz, Trengove and Jong: a long game-breaking kick, sensible and cool-headed defence, height and mongrel, burst speed and dynamism. I know Moz is a long way off yet, and not sure about Jong's status at the moment, but...
If you have a points system and every club has to give up a certain number of points, that means if no players (or not enough players) want to leave to go to an expansion club, you would have to force them out. Surely no real football club would ever want this.
And let's not pretend like a...
I agree that she's terrific in congestion, but I've been very disappointed by her decision-making out in the open in games this year. Like I said, it's something I'm sure she can improve on, but when you look at the very first picks in the draft they're likely to be very talented, devoted young...
As much as Conti is a terrific athlete, I don't think she's a natural footballer. Watching her this season sometimes I got flashbacks to JJ in the grand final - getting the ball, going on dashing runs and then kicking the ball to absolutely nothing. I'm sure she can improve on this, and if she...
So we've lost Brennan (Richmond), Ernst (Gold Coast) and now Karlson (St Kilda). If we lose one more before Conti gets settled, we'd at least be getting something back for her if she wants to go.
Blackburn, Scott, Huntington, Lamb, Ferres, Spark signed for two years.
Brown, Toogood, McLeod signed for one.
Some very good news!

Brennan going I can handle, I'm surprised and disappointed about Birch but at least we'd get something back from the Demons. If Hannah Scott goes that's a real kick in the guts. Other than Blackburn, Lamb, Huntington, maybe Lochland, there's no player I want to keep more.
People were saying why would she move from tier 1 at the dogs to tier 1 at another club, but I'm far from convinced she should be tier 1 for us. I like KB a lot, but for me there's half a dozen players I'd prioritise keeping over her. It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out...
Bailey Smith to set up a couple of goals and/or kick one himself, please. I reckon once he's got some real confidence and belief in his game at this level we'll see a completely different player.
Other than that, I'll be happy if we can keep hitting targets in the forward 50. It was a treat to...
As we all know, it's perfectly legal to watch footy on your phone while driving and everyone also has unlimited data all the time and no distractions ever occur whilst in transit.
If I could watch it, I would.
Gutted I can't watch this live as I'll be on my way to the Bulldogs mens game. Hopefully they'll be showing it somewhere at the G so I can at least catch the end, but I'm seriously flat about it.
I would normally agree with you, but this administration has done so painfully little to earn trust over the last few years that I just can't believe they're genuinely on top of things. Part of the reason this is all so tense is because of the decisions the AFL has made in this area and their...
I don't know if this was the case for anyone else, but the jumpers made it harder than usual for me to identify which player was which from Level 3, when I usually have no trouble with it at all.
Overall I didn't think they looked good, but I guess if they're selling well then they're achieving...
