Melbourne appear set to activate only 1 of its 2 compo picks for this years National draft.

EDIT
Update to the above - we have now confirmed we will activate both picks..

Chisora and Haye face potential life bans
Hey guys, I know there is a general boxing discussion thread - but this deserves its own for so many reasons..

Chisora behaved poorly from the weigh in, through to the fight, and then again at the post fight presser - theres no doubt.
But...
We had a dip last transfer period but wouldnt offer up one of our priority picks.
If Caddy still wants to get back to Melbourne at the end of the year - would we take it.
Similar types - Sylvia slightly more talented, Caddy slightly younger..
Are any of you lads Fulham supporters?
Im a little concerned with our transfer abilities at the moment.
We got Ruiz for 11million quid last summer, and he hasnt exactly set the world on fire. Now we've lost Zamora to QPR and this weekend we will see his replacement Pogrebnyak in action...
Interesting article in the HUN on likely candidates for a club change next year - the article is headed by Mathew Bate, and a number of Dees are mentioned including Morton and Petterd. Brock McLean also brought up - that would make me laugh.
Give the man a thread!
He's been working pretty hard for his opportunities this year - and was rewarded today.
31 touches including 10 inside 50's.
Only 2 tackles and 4 contested possessions so still some things to work on - but good on him for having his first really good game for the senior...
This is really interesting.
Melbourne Football club is nearing completion of a deal that would see a merger of the football club, with The Bentleigh Club with whom a long standing relationship already exists.
I hope Melbourne are getting this right - obviously there are some profitability...
I found this a very interesting article in The Age today.
I knew of some unrest within the Yuendumu community, but hadnt realised how close it has affected Liam Jurrah specifically.
You can search other articles for further background.
I wonder if Liam himself is safe if he goes back to...
Ok we all know how happy each of the recruiting managers are and how surprised they all were that pick x and y were still available.
But the truth is, some teams really lucked out tonight and did a very poor job selecting spuds in favour of guns.
So who lost the draft?..
...Dyson Heppell!

didnt see that coming but would be rather excited as he's been tipped for picks 4 - 6 for the last 3 months.
Tall half back flanker with a penetrating left boot who can play midfield as...
Ok guys we're less than a week away from draft day and given our pick is one of the more interesting/difficult to speculate (given GC's 3 picks directly before us, our needs vs best available dilemna, and of course Jack Darling!) I thought we should gather our thoughts..
This thread isnt a...
Following Brennans departure for GC, Brisbane have secured pick 5 as part of a multi faceted trade which also see pick 10 go to the GC.
This leaves GC with the 3 picks directly before Melbourne.
The new top 12 order is;
1. GC
2. GC
3. GC
4. WCE
5. Bris
6. Rich
7. GC
8...
This is odd - Jon Anderson has listed Ryan Shoenmakers from Hawthorn and Jesse White from Sydney as potential trade bait this week.
If true, Im sure we would be prepared to part with something generous - but does anyone know if this has any substance? The rest of the article seems solid...
Hold fire guys - I don't believe it either, but here it is in black and white..

Hey guys, on the Melbourne board we were discussing young ruckmen we might be able to gamble on with some later picks in this years draft.
Who are the best (young) non-AFL alligned ruckmen going around in the WAFL at the moment?

Most of us seem to agree that ideally we will find a ruckman who can drop forward or a big bodied KPF with our first pick in the 2010 draft.
With pick 12, Sam Day (195cm KPF) and Daniel Gorringe (198cm ruck) are certain to be gone.
Consensus on appropriate secondary options seem to...
