List Mgmt. 2016 general list discussion and speculation (cont in Pt.2)

behind selwood, selwood, danger, guthrie, caddy, blicavs, motlop, duncan for midfield minutes in my opinion without considering potentially improving players such as cockatoo, lang

    Best 22 in 2016

our backline will be interesting. kolo, lonners, taylor and henderson much to tall. we need at least one lock down small defender playing so i think we need bews to play in one back pocket. thurlow and enright depending on matchups. if i had to guess. bews henderson kolo thurlow taylor enright...

List Mgmt. 2016 general list discussion and speculation (cont in Pt.2)

if bartel plays many midfield minutes next season we will miss the top 4. i dont see a position for him at all. i dont think the plan is for him to play forward otherwise we would have kept johnson. he is about eighth in line as a mid. scott will play him in defence to the detriment of the team...

List Mgmt. 2016 general list discussion and speculation (cont in Pt.2)

bartel hasnt been a good midfielder for a number of years. he wont play forward otherwise we surely would have kept johnson (who was also a better midfielder than bartel). I dont see who he gets games ahead of, I'm expecting vfl for majority of the year

    Have Geelong sold their future?

Now everyone is posting how bartel is not best 22 and should be playing for bell park Guess most people do agree with me then :$:$

    Have Geelong sold their future?

his no impact 40 possession game on return? How about his games vs StKilda and collingwood when our season was on the line
  7. G

    Have Geelong sold their future?

So the members above disagree with my opinion in regards to Bartel having a poor season?

Toast GREATNESS: Our Tradition, Our Ambition

excellent work by the club. Also like the way it has been timed to coincide with a big list turn over, us turning into a destination club. Simple and effective, acknowledges the past and points to the future

    Have Geelong sold their future?

Really have to question how hawthorn and fremantle have managed to keep there older star from declining...

    Have Geelong sold their future?

I really think we should have got rid of bartel and kept johnson as we are short in medium forwards. And please dont give me this crap about bartel playing forward. he is slow as treacle and has not taken an overhead mark for a long time

    Have Geelong sold their future?

Shhhhh. they get angry when you dont agree

List Mgmt. 2016 general list discussion and speculation (cont in Pt.2)

Draft- medium forwards: We have kerstan, menzel and that's it Small forward: We dont have any genuine crumbers capable of kicking a bag Small lock down defenders: need more depth Rucks: Goes without saying really. Have read but need another developing ruck high risk punts- aguis sounds perfect...

List Mgmt. Recycled Players for 2016

    Yep. would be perfect depth

List Mgmt. OFFICIAL: Zac Smith traded for picks 49 and 53

vardy, clark, hawkins all ahead of walker with potential to swing back henderson/taylor or lonergan if desperate. Jensen and walker are both average and smith is very very good at his best in an area of great need.

List Mgmt. OFFICIAL: Zac Smith traded for picks 49 and 53

Such as a RFA coming out of contract wanting to come home :$:$

List Mgmt. 2016 general list discussion and speculation (cont in Pt.2)

I would pick up Shaw or butcher as fwd coverage Also consider fitzpatrick as he can play ruck or cover as a backman (been doing in vfl with success). Maybe gorringe or giles as servicable back-ups for stanley Non of the above players are really long term players but if we have a few key...

    Have Geelong sold their future?

So... the only change in the backline is henderson coming in yet 4 players who have kicked 20 goals between them over the last 2 games will suddenly be a non issue :$:$ Perhaps we can play henderson on rioli then as he is a good kick of the footy :rolleyes:
  24. G

    Have Geelong sold their future?

Well it certainly doesnt fit your argument that we will contain hawthorn after getting henderson in the team :$:$
  25. G

    Have Geelong sold their future?

Lol is that why bruest, rioli and puopolo have kicked bags on us this year So the only difference between this year and next is lonergan-our best shut down defender, goes out and henderson comes in. And now we all of a sudden are going to contain there small forwards :$:$
  26. G

    Have Geelong sold their future?

I heard we where going to put bartel or kelly in the grand final sprint this year because they is so fast :$:$
  27. G

    Have Geelong sold their future?

:rolleyes: Of course we have not sold our future. I'm sure in 4 years time and dangerfield is the only one on still on the list there will be more free agents which we will then throw away first round picks for. Both selwwod and henderson are every chance to spend significant time in...
  28. G

    Have Geelong sold their future?

2 main issues: - We still have Scott as coach - Our backline is incredibly slow For all those making comments like this: Both Fremantle, hawthorn and West Coast have quality small/medium forwards that will have a field day against us. There is no way we will contain gunstan, rioli, smith...
  29. G

    Have Geelong sold their future?

The first round of this draft is pretty strong. it has extremely poor depth and we are going to be taking a bunch of late picks. We are better off with late picks in a fairly even draft. I don't mind who we have got. The problem is every club bends us over at the trade table. We have all the...
