    Preview Rd7 Geelong V Port Sat APR25 635 pm @ AO - ZB cup?!?!

Butters pretty much gave up last time Mullin played on him. Would be mad to send to him anyone else this week.

With the time of year, feel like surgery and full recovery is certain. Huge blow.

Review Cats Salute by 75 over the Dogs in MB & JKs Milestone match

I know he was not up against much but it was incredible to see a Geelong centre bounce set up with a dominant ruck. Gee he has come on quickly this Edwards kid.

Review Cats knock off the Weagles by 47 points

Been a slighty uninspiring start but been some things that are setting our team up better for the short and long term. Bruhn’s emergence as a much better prospect than before his break. Can join the Holmes and Smith double act and make it a treble. Edwards looks a promising ruck, and is...

Preview Rd 5 Geelong V West Coast Sun Apr12 2026 @ 1230 pm Gather somewhere

Kolo is our closest checking defender and for that I am very pleased to see him back. I promise not to curse him if he turns the odd ball over by not recognising his skill limitations.

Autopsy Cats lose by 1 point to Hawks in another Easter Monday classic

Mannagh had worst on ground wrapt up but Lawson flew by him late. My god, I like the man, but that was a nightmare last 10 minutes. Mannagh I am assuming had some issue. Plenty of poor players out there. Atkins, Dempsey, J Henry, Holmes, Cameron, Close. Skill level seems to have dropped...

Preview Rd 4 Geelong V Hawks Mon Apr 6 2026@ MCG 315 pm

Um Hawthorn fell in against the Swans minus Heaney and Gulden and beaten Essendon. Respect them on their home ground but a little like I said about Adelaide last week, I love Geelong in any game where we have the midfield ascendency and I think we have too much for them through there...

Preview Rd 4 Geelong V Hawks Mon Apr 6 2026@ MCG 315 pm

Bowes for Wilshire. Little watch on Bruhn with a face knock, if not 100%, chance for Worpel to get back in.

VFL VFL 2026 - Geelong & the greater league

I think promoting O’Connor and Mullin too early inhibited their development. Let Burke play a full year and be quite commanding at the lower level for longer. Hope he is enjoying life in Australia and can be patient.

Review Cats keep the streak on Crows at KP by 8 points

Was relatively clean with his ball handling which I really liked. Didn’t think he was sharp enough around forward 50 to create a goal. That is a problem for a small forward. Should be happy with his game tonight nonetheless.

Did Bruhn sit out last quarter? Can’t remember seeing him out there. Hopefully no facial fracture there.

    Nice last quarter from Clark.

Thought some signs of life from SDK. Stengle will be welcomed back. Mullin was outstanding.

Hard to believe people still take his comments at face value, even after all these years of listening to this type of misdirection on a weekly basis.

    Preview Rd 3 Geelong V Adelaide Thu Mar 26 730pm @ KP

Confident we can edge the midfield here and under that scenario, we should not be dropping this game at home.

VFL VFL 2026 - Geelong & the greater league

Clark is offering slightly more than Close in that high half forward role and has youth on his side, so would persist a little longer. He has been poor though, let’s be honest.

Review Comeback Cats def Freo by 10

Our defenders all defend very well, the further they get up the ground. When we have ground position, SDK and particularly COS are fantastic and obviously Stewart. This is probably all defenders across the competition. Henry is our best, backs against the wall defender and COS is improving I...

Review Comeback Cats def Freo by 10

I thought Edwards had the better of Darcy but Jackson towelled him up. Those big lumbering rucks like Darcy are in trouble. Glad we don’t have him. Promising debut, as Jackson looks an All Australian level player now, he was superb.

Cameron was outstanding. We have been so lucky to watch him every week.

Autopsy Cats get belted by Suns by 50 odd

Clark is a fair way off Bruhn at similar stage. Bruhn played right away at GWS and has barely been dropped. Played decent football, though often dropped away in matches. Clark shows flashes of genuine quality but struggles to get the ball and makes at least 1-2 howlers with his 10 touches...

    Training Pre-Season 2026 chat

I have been more in than out on Knevitt over the years, but there was a moment last night where he took half a second too long to get down to a ground ball and that right there is the terminal problem. There was also that time where Worpel went to ground and Jagga Smith stayed on his feet and...

    Training Pre-Season 2026 chat

One thing that won’t have escaped attention of coaches was Polkinghorn’s defensive pressure. He worked hard on the chasing, even if he lacks that Gary Rohan closing speed to actually run them down…..I particularly noticed it after Neale went down when presumably he thought he was right in frame...

Stevens is exceptional at stoppage. Quite strange to me that they really don’t rate him at all. Maybe I just don’t understand the way the professional game is played these days.

    Training Pre-Season 2026 chat

Clark will get a very good run of games barring injury. It was a big call to play him in those finals, and with that trust and the experience behind him he is well placed to take a big step forward. Whether he does or not, remains to be seen. I have felt bad luck has followed him on the field...

I would see Dempsey being used very similar to how the Lions use Zac Bailey. Bursts in the centre square as an offensive weapon.

Rumour GFC 2026 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 1

Stephenson was literally one of the worst players in the entire competition when he was at North. This was not a behavioural issue like Tarryn Thomas, he was just absolutely hopeless. North could not get rid of him quick enough. There is absolutely no world where this guy ever gets close to...

Rumour GFC 2026 Player Trading, Drafting FA, Rumours and Wish lists Pt 1

It would be Disappointing and very unlikely. Maybe if we were at absolute full health he could be tight but how often does that happen? And that is not even allowing for his likely improved position in the squad after preseason.

List Mgmt. Cam Guthrie not offered a contract for 2026 by the Cats.

Got a little bit emotional watching the highlights package the club put out. Reminded me what a unique footballer he was. inside/outside, running ground level player, but great overhead. Could have been an All Australian half back, but was an All Australian midfielder. Feel cheated we never...
