Ladies and gents of the Dees forum,
The time has come for me to move on from moderating this fine board.
It's been a pleasure looking after the place for the last few years. My fellow mods, especially long-term stalwarts Crimson Azure and RandB, and also ThePuppetMaster and Biffinator, have...
It's on today from 12pm. Depending on the result this thread will either be a vent-your-spleen location, or another universal Hogan love-in.
Either way it should be weird.
He may only have been at the club two years, but they were two damn fine years.

The club did not offer him a contract for 2016... and that has already provoked much discussion here.
2015 Leadership group has been announced:

Yes folks, it's that time of the year again. For the fifth consecutive year we as a board will be aiming to sponsor two MFC players.
Please post below if you're interested in contributing, and if possible an indication of how much you can put in.
For more information and a record of what we've...
Article in the Hun just now speaks of a joint proposal for the Dees and Tigers to play an annual, ahem, blockbuster at the MCG on ANZAC Day Eve (i.e. April 24).

Your thoughts? Seems like a great concept to me.
Hardly worthy of a thread given Rodan has played just 9 unspectacular matches for the Dees, but he ends his career on 185 matches at 3 clubs. Well played. He may not have really suited our on-field needs this year in the end, but we got him cheap and supposedly he has brought some off-field...
According to that facebook AFL page, the club will hold a press conference at 1pm with Davey the expected topic.
... unless we have found a coach already :rainbow:
This is going to be ugly.
Not sure who we have to bring in at this stage... Nicholson an out you would think. Strauss could miss with that broken nose too which would be unfortunate.
I think we will need another tall for Freo's forwards assuming Pav plays.
Released today.

And here is the link to the Executive Summary document for those who want more detail.
Interesting quote from that, which seems to sum up the majority of the review:
The times they are...
Wonna has been struck by the banzhammer again apparently, will post his preview when it comes through via email.
In the meantime, have at it!

Best trips, favourite destinations, worst experiences, must-see locations... Discuss it all here.
I'm off to Singapore and Thailand for about 3 weeks... Enjoy the winter, suckers! No seriously though, any tips?
And so it comes down to this. Today the MFC board meets ostensibly to decide Mark Neeld's future, or lack thereof, as our coach. Will he survive? Is it already decided? Who should replace him? What have you been told by your mate's uncle's gardener? Should we storm the meeting and sack the board...
Sorry to BC, couldn't resist stealing that one.
All weekly updates to the 2013 MFC injury list will be posted here... discuss away.
Pre-Season Week 1: Bail out after knocks
Welcome to the first annual BigFooty Melbourne Board's Ultimate Footy League Draft!
The Draft will take place on the Ultimate Footy site, which all coaches of course have access to.

Yep, it's back already, with the ashes of the 2012 season still warm... http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/147275/default.aspx
"Our Club was first, our pride is forever"... and that is why you should join up again this season.
Current total:
2012...
Casey sits in third place going into the last round of H+A, so a few Melbourne players actually might get to play in September!
They will finish 3rd no matter what, with Port Melbourne and Geelong both also on 13 wins but with far superior percentages. Port should beat North Ballarat and Geelong...
Good on Bradley, retiring from the Tigers after 157 games - 133 with the Demons from 2003-2010. Only aged 29... You get the feeling he jumped before being pushed. Kelvin Moore in the same boat (Chaplin incoming??)
Vale Brad, you made a good contribution to the club both on field and in the...
Sign up here! Ultimate Footy is a next-level fantasy competition with much more complexity than DT or SC. After starting a league with a few of my mates this year, and having a whale of a time, the time has come to spread the love to the fine folks of the Demons board in 2013.
First up, it's a...
Nicholson out for 2-3 with a broken jaw, FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. Jurrah still at 2 weeks but is over the injury and onto an intense conditioning program. You get the sense they were waiting for the court case to be done with...
Cameron Bruce has announced his retirement this afternoon.

Good luck to him. Despite his departure from the Dees being far from ideal, he was a great player for us for many years. Such a shame that he got injured...
