From reading the last page or two, it appears he rejected their offer of a Rookie List spot, which would've seen him as DFA, but we traded for him so that he didn't get 'FA for Life' status. -

Again, why would any player - especially one with immense talent/potential (see: options), choose to go to Melbourne? They wouldn't. A 3rd (or more) club would be involved & they'd land at a real club. -
