I don't know why we didnt play Handscombe, they brought him into the test team at the start of the year because he's one of the better players against spin, they could have brought him in as keeper and played Marnus' role in the middle order and allowed them to play another power hitter like...
Have to say I probably agree, but one of Baker, Short or Rioli is probably going to be moved to the forward line permanently so will be interesting to see which way the new coaching panel goes.
Short was also originally drafted as a small forward and started his career there, would be interesting also to see him given a run there. We obviously have too many hbf options especially with the younger guys coming through so something has to give.
Yeah the first was just sheer skill execution brilliance, the second similar to another favourite of mine I think in the GWS GF when he read the bounce and turned back towards goal to away from the ball and bamboozled the defender, can't remember who that was.
Certainly my favourite, he had to take a short step to delay by like .2 of a second so he didn't get into Stanley's peripheral vision to early and to time the steal perfectly.
Just a bloke who is on a whole other level, football IQ wise, to everyone around him.
Happy with this appointment, Best wishes and good luck to him.
Never had anything against Mini personally or professionally but an interview I heard with Jack this morning discussing the appointment summed up why I always thought Mini was not the right man for the job. Jack said he was...
Any interest in Hunter Clarke? Was happy to go to North last year but in the end the deal fell through last minute.
Would be cheaper this year than last you would think.
Can't disagree with anything you've said in totality but I felt it really set us back not drafting for needs in that draft when we had such glaring needs that now need to be filled through trade and salary cap capital.
Maybe I'm silly then I think there needs to be a balance between pure talent and needs based drafting because one has an impact on the other, this draft was the perfect example.
We had 2 glaring list needs coming into this draft, inside mid and key forward, we drafted neither really (unless...
Peter Wright couldn't get a game at GC either. Not saying Burgess would or wouldnt be a good option but that metric alone doesnt discount him IMO.
They wouldn't play Flanders most of the year either and Id take him in a heartbeat.
Pick 7 would have been last year, we could have had Jyhe Clarke, Phillipou, Hollands or Ginbey, aswell as Hobbs and our midfield going forward would look pretty good.
If we didn't trade for Hopper we could have gone in for Bowes last Year and picked up GC's pick 7 instead.
And ultimately we only went for Hopper because we didn't draft for need the previous year and get Hobbs. Imagine how different things would look if we'd drafted Hobbs and Van Rooyen...
Cotch's best games this year have been when Hopper was absent. I think we might find that Hopper's form improves when Trent is not in the team. Too similar players we should really only be playing one of them.
Couldn't agree with this more. :thumbsu:
I think in a lot of ways Mini has done a good job but he keeps going with the same selection mistakes Dimma's made for the last 2 years cause its too difficult a conversation to have to drop Premiership heroes.
I'm with you. Nothing against what he has achieved so far he has done a good job.
I just think we need a new set of eyes over this group to give a clean break from past as there will be numerous tough decisions coming up where Premiership players need to be either dropped or moved on, and...
West is being played out of position, hes not a small forward but he wont get a game in his preferred role until Libba retires or gets injured.
Sparrow is best 22 but wont be getting paid what he's worth, could turn his head with a good offer and more genuine midfield minutes IMO.
I hope we look at targeting one or two younger guys that arent getting games at their current club, we need to change the age profile of our list quickly and adding a couple of young guys who could be best 22 would help.
Finn McCrae
Tom Sparrow
Rhylee West
Would be the guys I'd be getting into.
How McIntosh and Graham escape scrutiny from those on here defies logic, maybe because the MC just keep playing the regardless of form is the answer.
Kmac 4 posies and Graham 9 till 3 qtr time is useless. Off Kmacs 4 possessions, 2 were changer kicks and a set shot ftom 30m missed. The fact our...
This is spot on, seemed obvious to a lot of us last year that he was going to struggle to find a permanent spot in the side, Ross should have taken that role this year and leave Pickett and Kmac on the wings until a better option presents.
We could have got a mid to late 20's pick last year...
This pretty much, he's been terrible all season. Last year Jack Ross came in for the last 2 games and played the role Graham is supposed to be playing now, had 21 and 23 touches, looked comfortable with the footy and had 2 really good games. Fast forward to the start of this year and Graham is...
Perfectly summed up for mine. Will be interesting to see if Hopper comes straight in and Dusty and Cotch get shifted back to the forward line. Same with Bolton, no surprise we have improved with him more midfield time also.
Interesting decisions ahead for the Match Committee
