Autopsy 1st Semi Final 2025: Hawks send Crows out in straight sets!

My ex-wife was at the Crows v Coll game last week. I so hope she was at the Adelaide Oval again tonight. I live in Adelaide and hate that club (Crows), and a good many of their flog supporters so much. Nothing pleases me more than seeing that mob lose. So much sweeter when Hawks embarrass...

No Oppo Supporters General AFL discussion and other club’s news - Part 10

I have to live here.....if there is one club I legitimately hate it is this mob. I am looking forward to hearing all of their excuses and how they are self entitled they are. Disgusting club. I hope we do the business against the Dwarfs next week, then kick this mobs sorry arses back to...

No Oppo Supporters General AFL discussion and other club’s news - Part 10

Disgusting really.......lets blame the victim. The AFL should suspend Rowe's media credentials to broadcast AFL games.......if they are fair dinkum about being the social conscience of the country. Sour grapes Rowe

    It’s a big season for……

Its a big year for the club. Moving into The Kennedy Centre in 2025. Great new facility, increased expectations. I am also looking forward to seeing if Max Ramsden can establish himself in the side in the tall forward/2nd ruck role. I hope Max can add something to our forward line, especially...

    Traded Tom Barrass & 2025 F4 (WCE) traded to Hawthorn for 2025 F1, F2 & F3 (all Haw)

we are saving up first rounders to lure H. Reid back home in next year or 2 :D

I think you will find we have a pretty good record. Brad Hill springs to mind - a little while ago....granted. Left to go home at age 23 after a couple of premierships - all we got for him was pick 23. I am sure we could have dug our heels in for much more but we did the righty by the player

Prediction What unexpected trade are you predicting?

I though Peter had long retired :D

    Not anymore.....he has a new gym :D

Traded Josh Battle - Joins Hawthorn as UFA

We have plenty of cap space so I imagine we will front load a fair portion. If it is 850K per year, then dont be surprised if Josh is on the $$million$$ list next year or 2 Last 2 or 3 year could then be as low as 700K which is more than manageable on $18.44 million TPP in 2027

If Mason Cox can come from a basketball background in a foreign country and not even know how to spell AFL, then JUH is as good a chance as anyone from a basketball background to make it.

Now he has apparently nominated Hawthorn, can we get the deal done and bring him in next week :D

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn - Conor Nash. Extends to 2029!

Seems to be the way at the moment. If you want to entice a quality player from another club, you have to offer the 5+ year deals. So in turn we had to be in that range too. Well done Connor....I was standing right behind the goal when you played in the snow at Manuka. The thing I love about...

Player Watch 2024 AFL Draft Thread

Southport has always been a strong for footy talent. Southport Sharks always very competitive in the QLD league. SouthEast Queensland was certainly one of the strongest area for population grown in the country, and with this comes young kids

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn: Mitchell Lewis. Extended to 2026!

I was thinking just the same yesterday but I suspect this will be an unpopular view on BF. From having a real gap in our key forward stocks, we now seem to have to many options that getting Lewis straight back in to the side is not such a straight forward option - its a bit of a luxury that we...

Plenty whinging about the Green bump too. I wasnt paying enough attention to the game re: Newcombe and Ginni. Bump pretty sure these things happen in every game and there is inconsistency in every game. Just saying. I love the Collingwood supporters whinging about Ginnivan now he is not at...

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 13 - Hawks v GWS Sat June 8th 1:45pm AEST (Uni of Tassie)

Anyone arguing that Green's bump on Sicily is not late (split second late, yes) needs to have their eyes checked, or open their other eye. Get your hand off it. This gets paid every time, and has so for at least the last 20 years. Let me ask you this, what decision would you honestly expect...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 18, Josh Weddle - now locked in until 2030

Good enough for the Northern Academy clubs to group together a bunch of picks in the 40's to get multiple top 10 picks, why cant anyone else.....oh, that's right

Player Watch 2023 AFL Draft Pool Discussion Thread

My preferred draftee is Duursma - genuine forward who can rotate through the midfield. But if he is gone, then I think we are crazy if we dont take Curtain. Curtain ready to play AFL more or less straight away, which is clearly an area of the ground we are deficient. We just traded for...

    Draft mechanisms under review

Absolutely......there are a lot of nuances that need to be war-gamed. But overall, I think a draft points model is viable. Just need smarter people than me to work out the mechanics of the system

    Draft mechanisms under review

Agreed with banking points. WRT future picks, I dont think you can extrapolate current finishing positions for the next 2 seasons to determine how many points you have for this year's trade/draft period. I think you need to average it out in some fashion based on current finishing positions...

    Draft mechanisms under review

I raised this very concept about 3 or 4 years ago (pre-covid) and got smashed. I still think this concept has merit for the reasons you pointed out in your original reply post. Main value I see is how Future Pics are valued - have to have some sort of average value depending on where the club...
