Good enough for the Northern Academy clubs to group together a bunch of picks in the 40's to get multiple top 10 picks, why cant anyone else.....oh, that's right
My preferred draftee is Duursma - genuine forward who can rotate through the midfield. But if he is gone, then I think we are crazy if we dont take Curtain.
Curtain ready to play AFL more or less straight away, which is clearly an area of the ground we are deficient. We just traded for...
Absolutely......there are a lot of nuances that need to be war-gamed.
But overall, I think a draft points model is viable. Just need smarter people than me to work out the mechanics of the system
Agreed with banking points.
WRT future picks, I dont think you can extrapolate current finishing positions for the next 2 seasons to determine how many points you have for this year's trade/draft period. I think you need to average it out in some fashion based on current finishing positions...
I raised this very concept about 3 or 4 years ago (pre-covid) and got smashed.
I still think this concept has merit for the reasons you pointed out in your original reply post.
Main value I see is how Future Pics are valued - have to have some sort of average value depending on where the club...
I would argue that Kosi will be a very capable 3rd tall, but I'm not sure that being number 1, or even number 2 banana upforward suits him. Having said that he is still only 23, and approaching 50 games.
Good luck Kosi and thank you for your service to the Hawthorn FC.
Has only played 45 games. Looks better as 2nd or 3rd tall, behind Mitchell Lewis and Brandon Ryan when he played.
Started to show something late in the year. I am hoping we give him another year to see how his development continues as he pushes past 50 games
Id be surprised if Richmond dont beat Gold Coast (Marvel) and West Coast (MCG) this week and next.....both at the MCG. Will push you up to 12th or 13th I would say
I will be interested to watch how Weddle and Ed Allen progress over the next couple of years. Both look like very similar types, both physically and athletically. My wife follows Collingwood and she was devo that we took Weddle, but satisfied that Collingwood then took Ed Allen. I think we got...
Takeaway for me was the spirit and the fight we showed today.
We dominated the first 10 minutes of the game, then GWS turned the screws and it looked like GWS by how many. But we found a way to stay in touch and give ourselves a chance. We could have easily dropped out heads. I fully expected...
Anyone attending the game.....
I am taking my eldest 2 girls to their first Hawks game tomorrow. Looking forward to the suburban ground atmosphere - up close and personal.
anyone coming from interstate to see the game
I cant believe no one has put the welcome mat out for our new arrivals.
Came here looking to read the welcome threads to find out more about them........but crickets.
Who dropped the ball on this one
Interesting that there is no Who won Trade Period threat on the main board yet.
That is because it was a non-event and everyone turned off about a week ago.
