Anyone notice yesterday that a few times we tried quick handballing to get a running game going but often to players who were covered and under pressure, and ended up coughing up the ball. Maybe some of it was the Crows pressure, but it also looked like poor judgement and footy IQ?

JSOS and Martin would both be handy. I think Elijah has a lot to offer on the forward line and in transition play… his pass to Harry in the first quarter, who marked and kicked his first goal, was centimetre perfect.

Talking about defensive efforts we didn’t have any effective matchups for Tex or Rankine. McGoverns centring pass was overly ambitious and risky, gifting them an easy goal. Plenty of sub par efforts by our defenders - probably only Boyd played okay as reflected in the poll above.

Our small forwards don’t crumb and kick enough goals. They didn’t really apply pressure to keep the ball on the forward line today. Missed Fogarty today for forward line pressure and goal assists.

Our centre bounce clearance work was abysmal today and is a big concern. Neither Pitto or TDK were that effective at the centre bounces, and the few occasions our midfielders got their hands on the ball it was taken away by the Crows.

Why do we have to assume, can’t the umpires microphone pick up someone yelling at them 5m away. You’d think if they have a recording the AFL would send Freo or Clark a copy and tell him to pull his head in. Maybe the audio isn’t that clear? Would be great if we could hear it.

This game has the Carlton conspiracy theorists confused. Umpires favoured Freo for most of the game, the last 5 mins must be an anomaly. Freo robbed by umpires in last few minutes against Carlton conspiracy however is thriving. 😀
