Anyone feel like Port doesnt exist?

As much as I hate Port with a passion, I too think they should have come into the comp. in their prison bar jumper. How Collingwood can have the power ( no pun ) to stop another club from wearing its traditional jumper is a joke. It would also stop a lot of the confusion about who is the...

Preview Round 1 FaceOff - Adelaide vs Hawthorn

Now that was bloody funny. I always enjoy your stuff Carl, and this was classic. I particularly like your take on Port, the minnow club, the charity match. So true. Freo to win hey?

    Pies break 60,000 membership mark.

Probably, but to be fair the NRL have until the last year or so not bothered about the whole membership/ owning a seat, thing. I know we are prone to put s**t on our NRL brothers for low crowds, memberships etc, but if the Broncos here went at it like the AFL does, then I think that within a...

Society/Culture WW3: Would you enlist to fight for Australia?

I'll supply the berets, if you help me drive Checkers down to the local army barracks for him to sign up. No point in him waiting for WW3, he needs to show his fellow citizens by example.

Goodbye to the good folk of Bay 13

Not good news Toots, I hope everything turns good for you. Are you going to see Toots in Byron at Easter? That would raise your spirits no doubt. Good luck mate.

    Des Meagher dies.

Was one of my favorite players. As you say, always got plenty of the ball, out on the wing. Wore no.30, long sleeved jumper, I think.

Brodie Martin - ACL??....No?...NO! Confirmed; "Brodie Martin is okay". Recovery time: 1-2 weeks.

Thank f@#k. Maybe the curse has been lifted. Great news for Brodie, and for all of us. Now get out there and carve 'em.

But in this case we are dealing with the witless.

    AFL losing PR war

There is just so much " news " reported these days that is not news. Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan crap a prime example. And the public using their mobile phones to film the slightest indiscretion are largely to blame not just the media.

Things you broke watching the Crows last year....

Didn't break anything, but my language was something to behold. To this day the neighbours give me strange looks. Well maybe that has nothing to do with my language.

16 a side - what do you think?

I also never saw Polly play other than in film clips. And of course heard men who played with and against him. Widely regarded as one of the most skilled players to play the game, and one who changed the game. But of course rule changes have killed that type of ruckman. Rick Davies types...

16 a side - what do you think?

I understand the rule, I just don't agree with it. As I said ,would you rather a Polly Farmer or a Sandilands? I have nothing against Sandilands, wish we had him, but there is no contest about the skill of the two players. Why isn't a player in general play who taps the ball along to himself...

Exactly. Why I believe we once had bumping allowed in our game, incredible.

No mate ,I was talking about the thread starter, dididi.
  16. R

16 a side - what do you think?

Yes, I agree that the rucking rule is rubbish. Lucky Polly Farmer isn't playing today. No more long handballs to players out in the open. No other player on the ground has to get rid of the ball, as does the ruckman. It only adds to the congestion. Whilst I'm on a rave about ruck rules...

The AFL wants a slice of ‘American Pie’

This thread was made by a rabid Aussie rules hater. A soccer fanboi of the highest order. That said , why not pursue any market world wide that may unearth some players who could enrich the game.

16 a side - what do you think?

I really hate the changing of the rules all the time. If they limited the interchanges to a specific number per quarter, they could stop a lot of the congestion. But the powers that be, want to make the game faster and faster, and the coaches also seem to agree. What I believe has happened...

    Craig Foster, again....

As pointed out to you several times already, Australian football actually requires a player to kick the ball to register a goal. Soccer on the other hand makes do with pretty much any part of the body, or that of the opposition for that matter. Wouldn't you say that in a game that you insist...

Your fav 3 vocalists. An 3 u cannot stand..

Roy Orbison.....brilliant voice. Crosby Stills and Nash, Buddy Guy, John Lee Hooker,Stevie Winwood,Greg Allman. etc etc. Ones I can't stand Most of the ones mentioned as good on here. ( I'm an old c@nt )

    Craig Foster, again....

But we peasants like our footy. Uneducated louts that we are. But now that an educated, cultured, citizen of the world has shown us the error of our ways, we'll be dropping this heathen game in our droves. And flocking to one of the super skilled games, you have alluded to, perhaps American...

    Craig Foster, again....

That global audience, would it include the USA, India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Ireland, New Zealand, Pacific Ocean nations, Canada, Sri Lanka, Phillipines? Because those countries really don't give a f@ck about soccer. And there are a few people in those countries. But the people of...

    Craig Foster, again....

Or perhaps Aussie rules should pay a goal, when the ball hits a head and goes through. For a game that you insist on everyone calling football, I do wonder why goals are scored by the head.

    Craig Foster, again....

I'm just jealous that , I'm born in Australia like you, but you get to be German ( master race ).

    Craig Foster, again....

Mate that is crap. Many many people I know personally hate the AFL with a vengeance and follow South Australian teams like West Adelaide, Norwood, Centrals etc. etc. I would be surprised if that wasn't the same in all states. In South Australia teams like Glenelg, Norwood, Centrals, Port...

    Craig Foster, again....

Just an observation, when Fos and his ilk rave on about crowds in Europe and South America for soccer, in comparison to Aussie rules, why do they never bring up crowds in American football? Perhaps that another football code , has crowds that s**t all over any soccer crowds in the world...

    Andy Otten

The fact that Craig said it at all, really says something. Craig is usually loath to make that sort of call. He ( Craig ) must see all the things that make an elite midfielder, in Otten. For our sake let's hope he's right. A midfield of Otten, Danger, Thommo, Smith, Vince, Sloane and Dougy...
