Competition 2026 FJGD World Cup - Hub Thread (DRAW DATE RELEASED)

Any group of death? I don’t know everyone’s work, but it seems groups E to H will have the toughest run. For what I’ve seen, Group E is the hardest?

Reasons for disenchantment / lower attendance

The only boring thing about this is that you a posting this same comments countless times. If you are searching for agreement they would have replied to you by now. Bring on the Swans and the Hawks!!!!

Which is worse, changing AFL teams or changing to the NRL?

Attraction isn’t a choice - the rule is the same for sport teams.

    Is the AFL rigged?

It’s a bit complicated though… Umpires can’t play every technical free kick, they be blowing the whistle every second. Australian Football has always been to give a bit of leeway to keep the game flowing. As long as it’s consistent and fair for both sides, then I’m fine with it.

    Is the AFL rigged?

I think the AFL has made the sport to difficult to umpire. Even if they become professionals there still be no games that will be considered excellent umpiring. All we can hope for is consistency and fair for both teams. I can accept if it’s consistently bad, consistently average or...

    Is the AFL rigged?

Where are all the supposed better umpires that couldn’t umpire in the AFL because of the bounce up? Or do we have to wait till next season till they come in?

Autopsy Roast & Toast v Melbourne/Changes For WCE

Still hope after 3rd quarter made it a enjoyable game. Why is Short on the list? Did he play? Why has he 3 votes (considering I got scrutinized a couple of weeks ago voting for Hopper).

Which is the smallest rivalry between Victorian clubs?

And you were our bogey side in the 70’s. Don’t dare to think what would have happened if you beat North in the 74 PF. You had beaten us twice that year. When we beat you early 1980 I thought… maybe we will win the Premiership this year… and then we also beat Collingwood who we haven’t beaten...

Which is the smallest rivalry between Victorian clubs?

I mean a lot of rivalry is between bigger clubs as in Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn and Richmond even in times where they don’t play finals. If you combine any two of these clubs with each other you will find rivalry with each other at some stage. But Hawthorn-Richmond seem to be...

Which is the smallest rivalry between Victorian clubs?

Usually the bigger supported clubs have a intense rivalry against each other at some moments of time. But I don’t think I ever seen, heard or read this regarding Hawthorn vs Richmond. Even the 2018 semi was not so memorable. So this match up has my vote.

I realised the reason I don't care that much about the 2026 premiership season

I watch it. Both are playing exiting footy at the moment. Past is past and you can’t always bank that the Swans will stuff it up again. If you do then no Magpies fans would have watched the 1990 Grand Final.

I realised the reason I don't care that much about the 2026 premiership season

Why 2019? Collingwood were right up there. GWS first Grand Final. Richmond’s second Grand Final in 38 years. I miss old footy but in my youth there were only five clubs up there, Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn, North Melbourne and Richmond. Only four of these clubs managed Premierships. Who...

Game Day Round 6 v North Melbourne Marvel Stadium Sunday April 19th 1.10pm - Restschko Debut

Beyond us. The record is in 1977, Hawthorn - 41 behinds. But they even kicked 25 goals that day to beat St.Kilda who kicked 16.7. Our game is resembling more like Fitzroy in 1928 where they kicked 2.29 (39) vs Geelong 19.8 (122). 2 more scoring shots and still lose by 83 points!!!! Singing...

    North and Hawthorn rivalry

Feels like Collingwood vs Essendon and Carlton vs Richmond is more or a rivalry now then Carlton vs Collingwood.

Competition "What If" Wednesdays - Time Traveller Sneezes Edition: Week 76 - Red Bull given the 20th AFL licence

Fitzroy Red Bulls With the new CEO of the Red Bull being a massive Fitzroy fan, he bought the club and made a massive offer to the AFL to buy back their license and end the association with Brisbane. Brisbane however refused to part with the lions moniker. Instead Fitzroy new moniker was both...

Well at least Gold Coast resisted and went pink (which I hope will be their full time home jumper).

    Jumper clash fails

So when the 20th team eventually gets in, what colour would you like the team to have? For me, it be something that no other team has, like: beige/gold, lilac/violet, grey/silver, light green, sky blue, peach….. any others?

Autopsy AFL 2026 Round 6 - Blues v Pies Thurs April 16th 7:30pm AEST (MCG)

    Official spoon countdown thread.

8th or 9th woodenspoon (depends on how you see the 1916 season) coming up. Soon to be 6th team to go to double figures. Depressing. When I started following Tigers we had only 2 or 3.
