AFL Toast RND 5: Win Against The Dogs

I was absolutely positive before the game that we were going to make him look a superstar (again). So so good to see him have the kind of game he deserved

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XI - McKay. Goldstein. Gresham. Duursma!

I'm all for McKay, but the line about "McKay kept essendon forward Sam Weideman goalless" is too much for me [emoji23][emoji23] Weid could play in the f50 completely by himself and be kept goalless by a slight breeze or itchy socks

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XI - McKay. Goldstein. Gresham. Duursma!

Yes he did. And the answer is cause it seems the entire afl ecosystem is just a gross boys club circle jerk?

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XI - McKay. Goldstein. Gresham. Duursma!

Not sure what exactly the other rumours are around Oliver, but I can guess. And I'd be inclined to believe there's something there. I saw him out and about during the week in the middle of the day, bang in the middle of this year's pre season, and what I saw was (allegedly) not a guy who was in...

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XI - McKay. Goldstein. Gresham. Duursma!

This was the only scenario that made sense to me but it didn't read like pick 13 coming back our way would be part of the deal. If that's the case it's probably worth doing, but knowing the AFL they'll veto it after letting Geelong do it last year for pick 8. Also can't help but wonder what...

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency XI - McKay. Goldstein. Gresham. Duursma!

Am I missing something? Or just taking crazy pills? Why on earth would we do a hugely inflated 3 year deal for Gresham just to dump the final year of Shiels contract, only to get a token pick in return?

Game Day Gameday Thread - Essendon Bombers Vs Norf Melbin Roos - 12.08.23 at 1.45pm - Marvel Stadium

Seriously. What is going on? Bloke couldn't mark his own jocks after a curry and 2 litres of coffee right now.

    AFL Player #10: Sam Weideman

I'm no football scientician but I feel like if Weid doesn't have any mongrel in him now then he's not going to magically find some playing in the backline. He's meek with no physical presence and I can just see him getting rag dolled by the big forwards people are hoping he'd be able to match up on.

Preview Round 13 - Essendon Bombers vs Carlton Blues - Sunday, June 11th - 7:15 pm - For The Emblem!!!

Sadly I don't think Weideman has it in him to lay out an outfit, let alone another player

Recruiting AFL Trade & Free Agency X - Club has elected not to fill list spot - Davey returning from injury?

With Bowes, if GC have been pushing back his salary for the last couple of years, who was it for? Surely they can't have already been that close to their cap over the last two seasons?

Coach Men's Senior Coach: Brad Scott

Hard to admit because I've never been sold on Scott, but that was fairly impressive as far as press conferences go. He probably comes with more beneficial experience from his AFL house gig than I had initially thought and he's not gonna muck around or pull punches so to speak, so that's something

Club Mgmt. Board of Directors as led by President Dave Barham

Interesting that you don’t like the XPA but did like the IPA - a lot of the feedback was that people didn’t like it for the same reasons they weren’t into the XPA, ie it was too yeasty, soapy, unbalanced, and generally just suffered from very poor use of hops. It was only released as a one off...

That's a gentle way of describing the ad. They aligned themselves pretty clearly with straight up bible bashing bigots and copped a fair bit (probably still less than they deserved) of backlash for it

Club Mgmt. Board of Directors as led by President Dave Barham

Coopers are a bit of a funny one. They're trying to push into new territory to take market share from other breweries who are doing new-world style beers (hop forward, more aromatic craft beers like XPAs/IPAs/some Pale varieties/Pacific Ales etc) but their production setup doesn't facilitate...

Club Mgmt. Board of Directors as led by President Dave Barham

Over the last few years for obvious reasons supply chain issues (particularly from Europe/UK) has made it very difficult to get those kinds of beers into Australia in kegs reliably, at the same price they used to, and in good condition. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watsons have both had to move...

Can't help but scoff at Walls being involved. Not because he hates Essendon, but because I think he's a washed up dinosaur who is probably as out of touch with modern AFL as Sheedy is. So he was part of the panel that hired Lyon at the Saints.. 15 years ago. And Eade at Sydney 25 odd years...
