I'm pretty sure you can add 'offered too much elsewhere' to Jake Lever's row. I'm quite certain I heard our list manager say on Trade Radio that year that Lever would be the highest paid player at AFC if they matched Melbourne's offer.

Would have been nice to apply that policy for the round one game last year. IMO that compromised our whole season, starting 0-2 instead of the 2-0 I reckon it...
In order of jumper number, I went through the list and just wrote down who I'd think would be a bit unlucky to miss being named in a 22. I got to 27.

Don't you mean they used to name 18 on field, 4 on bench and 4 emergencies, and now it is 18 + 5 + 3, with the sub coming from the 23, (presumably, but not necessarily from the 5?)
Article states we have had 3 F/S players, but I think the Rowes are still the only pair where both Dad and Son played an AFL premiership points match for the club. Ben Jarman never played an AFL game, neither did Jim Michelanney.
Could the Stevens overtake the Cooks...
With all the emerging midfield talent we have, why not create a new game style where we have ruck, rover, ruck rover, centre line, half back line and half forward line all following the ball around.
Sure, it might look like under 12's, but it could work...
<I'll add a TIC, just to make sure...
If he makes the senior team, Karl becomes the third Gallagher to play an AFL game for the Crows.
It would be the 5th time three or more players with the same surname have played for the Crows.
4 x Cook
3 x Brown
3 x Thompson
3 x Stevens
There are quite a few cases where 2 players with the...
With Hinge, Keys, Door-son and now Curtain we are collecting quite a lot of household names!
I'm hoping the Butt Hinge combo will be a well oiled machine swinging out of defence for a long time to come.
Curious that an Irishman has the Germanic/Nordic spelling of Karl - not the British Carl.
(Also curious that our Irish 'twins' have first name Karl and Mark(s)...)
[And for those that weren't aware, Karl Marx had a sister - Onya]
The open nature of Wiki is a two edged sword - on the plus side any mistakes found can be easily fixed, but on the downside, anyone can add as much BS as they want.
Here's an example. Read the last paragraph of an older version of Steve Hocking's wiki page...
Fair enough.
So in reality it was a 3 way trade:
Bris got pick 6 and 21 for Matthew Clarke and 15
North got 15 and 77 for Welsh,
And we got Clarke and Welsh for 6, 21 and 77.
Wiki updated.
Also got it in two.
Great idea for a bit of fun.
(On the NYT game I average about 35% in 3 or better. I've only failed 6 times in over 600 games played)
(Also, please tell me Cooke, Sloan, and Hamil won't be any of the solutions!)
I was thinking more about this last night, and golf also entered my thoughts.
Would a golf ball/club combination be the furthest projectile capability we have invented using only the energy transferred from a single action/series of human muscle contractions?
Also, as I said previously...
I'm no footy technique expert, but as an engineer I know a bit about physics.
From my perspective it is all about energy transfer, and efficiency in doing so. The energy from a swinging leg is transferred to the ball. The more energy that is transferred to the ball for a given launch angle...
Oops, I guess that's not me then...
(I just did a Wiki Search on Dan* Gar*. I was curious to see if anyone would notice that dude was 15 years dead.)
(I'm also rather bored at the moment...)
(The username Dangar was already taken when I signed up, so I tacked a 'man' on the end)
