The help doesn't need to be players. Money and resources to attract good coaches and recruiters and better facilities. Not to mention finding the right staff to create the type of culture that allows for sustainable success.

Yes, the umpiring was trash. Seemed to go in cycles - everything the Bombers way, everything the Lions way, now we'll get tough on holding the ball. It was as though the interpretation of the rules was changing mid-quarter. Amateur hour.
The last couple of seasons do suggest that Crameri struggles against top-line competition. Bulldogs supporters and anyone else can check that easily for themselves.

I think the key is that the team at this stage doesn't look any better or worse than GC did last season. While they will be on the receiving end of some massive beltings this year (like GC) they'll also be competitive in quite a few games (like GC).
I could only take positives out of the game...
