There were some Essendon fans near me who were basically that image personified. The scars run deep when it happens 3 times in a row. But I thought Essendon did actually put up a good fight they just ran out of juice and went a little on the back foot a bit early and the Pies surged over them.

An action like Pickett’s is designed to do only one thing - cause a head injury to the other player. That he appears to have been unsuccessful at this shouldn’t stop him getting multiple weeks. Punish the action, not the outcome.
