Weird how Brisbane didn’t automatically kick a goal from a Lachie Neale free kick 70m from goal. It was apparently certain to have happened last game they played.
I may be freezing my nuts off watching a pretty ordinary game, and it looks likely I’ll have to watch Carlton actually win a final, but I was here to see the most ridiculous goal ever, and you can’t put a price on that.
There were some Essendon fans near me who were basically that image personified. The scars run deep when it happens 3 times in a row.
But I thought Essendon did actually put up a good fight they just ran out of juice and went a little on the back foot a bit early and the Pies surged over them.
Does anyone know if Richmond were missing any players due to injury? I don’t remember the commentary team mentioning it, except for the odd 60 or 70 times.
Just their luck to be playing against Sydney who weren’t missing any players at all…
Second player in as many days to launch themselves at an opponent’s head. WTH are these idiots thinking?
These aren’t the minor miscalculations we’ve seen in the past, they are deliberate actions that can only have one outcome. I can’t believe players are pulling this s**t at the moment with...
An action like Pickett’s is designed to do only one thing - cause a head injury to the other player. That he appears to have been unsuccessful at this shouldn’t stop him getting multiple weeks.
Punish the action, not the outcome.
If it’s still our last finals win in 10 years, then I’ll probably remember it. :drunk:
As one of the most incredible underdog wins in our history, I hope it remains as strong in my memory as it clearly is in yours at the moment.
