Still, let us have a look at it so we know who is doing it and how, and we may be we to dissuade in the future. Stuff like this should be out of bounds and I'm sure Chief will agree.

Yep, just put your hand up in front of your face and refuse to take anybody else's negativity on board. It has taken me a long time to put myself first. Ended my marriage so I could find peace. My anxiety is still there and will probably always be because I'm wired that way but I...

Mod. Notice Have your say on the state of the Lifestyle board

Hey Lifestylers BigFooty is seeking an opportunity for its audience, you the posters, to provide feedback about the state of the Lifestyle Board. If you would take a few moments to vote in the poll above, that would be useful. More importantly though it would be appreciated if you could post...

This is not going to be a popular decision, but the exchange on the weed thread drew the attention of mods and admins alike. BF have a policy re discussing illegal activities that posters are involved in (refer stream requests for example). Discussing drugs as a societal issue or their health...

    Do you smoke weed?

Seems to me that this is a topic that requires a great deal of maturity to discuss. A fair few failures observed on that score. Thread closed pending clean up and it may not open at all. It's not the first drug thread to go askew. The personal attacks are pathetic quite frankly.

Can vouch for the accent part, but as I was there with my wife, can't vouch for the ladies attention. We had random people stopping us to tell us they loved our accents, and a Memphis police officer got us through two roadblocks around Beale St, when my wife had no ID and we had an underage...

Vegas airport is extremely close to the strip but the entrance is on the opposite side. I caught a taxi because there were four of us travelling and I didn't want to be held up through security and miss a flight. One shuttle I booked in Anaheim arrived an hour late and that was for our flight...

Towards the end of our West-East-West trip, we went from Las Vegas, connected in LAX and flew into Kona for a couple of days. Because our flights were Brisbane-LA return, we had to return to LA. The first part of the trip we did LA/Hollywood and when we returned from Hawaii, we did Disneyland...

I liked it. A few weirdos but they keep it pretty clean. It did have the tacky surfers paradise feel to it though. Mind you it was the start of my trip and we were excited just to be in the US.

Incredible story. You just never know when you are going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Although you were 100 metres away from the absolutely wrong place. LAX is the hub for most Aussie travellers. I went there 5 separate times during a 3 week holiday from the West Coast to the...

First things first. If you do San Diego, better to do it first after you arrive in LA as it is reasonably close. Otherwise, you have a longish trip to San Fran, then a longer trip to San Diego and bugger all chance of getting a direct flight from SD to NYC. I'd go LA, car/bus to SD, then fly...

I'd like to go to San Diego so Legoland is a possibility next time. Wouldn't be setting aside 3 days though. So many other things we want to do and being on the Gold Coast, we get all theme park'd out.

Again, don't know whether numbers have picked up but all I can comment on is my experience. Mid Oct 2010 was awful and so apparently was Dec 2012 according to my friend. I do have another little one so might consider it again, but I'm very gun shy. It was the tail end of a great holiday and...

Definitely. I did google Disneyland in October and advice seemed to be it was outside peak period so I'd hate to see it in July/September.

We went 2 and a half years ago. Seems a little hit and miss to find quieter times and it seems the fast pass system has changed. Heaps going on, but you do end up spectating a lot rather than participating. Just to walk, we were going at a shuffle because of the crowds on the paths.

We had breakfast first and we had arrived at our hotel at 1am but still we got there at 12. I straight away grabbed a fastpass for Indiana Jones which said I could go back between 5pm-5.30pm. I then tried to get one for Pirates and it said couldn't get another fastpass as I had one open. I...

The atmosphere is always going to be greater when you cram a hundred thousand people into one small area. The rides look good but unless you are prepared to go back for a couple of days, from opening to closing and line up for 2 hours each ride, you may not get to experience them. Universal is...

Universal, consider buying an express pass so you get to see everything. We did and as it turned out the lines weren't long and we probably didn't need it. You can't take the risk if you only have a day though and others have said there are long lines when they have gone there. Do the studio bus...

That is fantastic. We were staying in Hollywood and had to catch the shuttle bus to the train station. We were thinking about staying near the park next time. My wife swears she saw Kim Kardashian at Citywalk but then she thought every limo had a celebrity in it, and every black man jogging...

October was just nice. We flew from NYC to Buffalo, had a car pick us up and take us to Niagara Falls, got there around lunch time. Straight to Maid of the Mist, dinner at a half decent place, up the next morning, went behind the falls, car picked us up in plenty of time to get back across...

You stayed at the Luxor? That's where we stayed. I had no issue walking to the Bellagio each day, but we sort of did it by going from place to place rather than walking all the way there. Takes an age just to walk through the car parks. Each casino you could spend two days exploring and...

My version of a rest day is more about not walking as much. Eat locally, shop locally, explore the local blocks. As it was, we were tearing off from one end of Manhattan to the other on a regular basis. Hours on cruises, bus tours etc. I think it is sort of important to do something to feel...

Yeah, I knew there was bugger all food on board unless you wanted to pay. We were allowed to take our own food on board though. The prices are so cheap you'd expect that. We did have entertainment systems on some flights and some were user pays. Jet Blue were the best. Air Trans were a bit...

True, the airports seem mostly pretty crappy with few food options. Some are spread out a lot, Phoenix comes to mind. Memphis was decent. I found them pretty easy to navigate though. Just have to get there in plenty of time. I found it interesting during one early morning flight at LAX. We...

I reckon we lucked out during our trip as we had no real problem with rude people. Some are a little sullen, one lady on 5th Avenue was dismissive when we asked directions but the cab drivers were great, taxi queue coordinators were great, the cruise people were funny and friendly. We also...
