Budapest is pretty cheap, awesome place. Couple of days in Vienna is plenty. Hapsburg for half a day, wander around the city for the rest. I didn't make it to Krakow but have heard good things, otherwise Dresden is quite nice, same with Leipzig but you wouldn't want to spend more than a day...

Depends on how you travel to Prague... if you fly in its all good, if you are catching the train from Berlin then its a killer. I'm assuming that you would fly back from Prague to London tho, in which case it might not be too bad. Both are two of my favourite cities tho, but Prague's location...

I stayed in a place about 45 minutes out which was painful as it took a train and bus plus a walk to get there. Book hotels early and if you want to get in the big tents, book those asap too. Don't forget to check out done of the smaller tents too, some damn nice beers to be had

I usually try and keep myself up as long as possible but usually make it to 8pm or so then crash out for a good 12 hours which sorts me out pretty well. Back home is the killer for me too. Actually i find the 2-3 hour difference back to Aus harder to cope with than the 12 hours to Europe from here

Also, it depends on your personal tastes, but Budapest is well worth a trip, its reasonably cheap too

Avoid British if you can. If you go Singapore then don't fly into Amsterdam as they code share with Royal Dutch I think it is and you may get an older plane like I did last year, but on other legs I've never had a problem with Singapore.

They used to do Sachenhausen as a Contiki side trip, not sure if they still do, but its definitely worth it. Up there with Hiroshima's war memorial/museum for the most shocking place I have visited

I skipped Moulin Rouge as i have no interest whatsoever. I skipped the Barca dinner too and from what i heard my mates and i had a better experience on our own. The Vatican and gondola is worth it, but you could always get your own gondola... and probably cheaper. I think i did the Imperial...

What ones? Some are, some aren't. The dinners tend to be a bit meh, but the activities are generally pretty worthwhile. I did a dinner in Paris and it was pretty average, skipped most of the others and just did my own thing with other peops.

The van Gogh museum in Amsterdam is worth a look. There's always the sex museum... cheap and good for a laugh. Ann Franks house is meh imo, but the Heineken tour is well worth it. Hostels I cant recommend, we stayed in hotels and it was pretty damn expensive. And on spending money in...

Yeah Dusseldorf is alright too, Leipzig and Dresden are well worth it. Berlin is one of my favourite cities, Cologne and Hamburg are good too. Had an absolute ball in Germany. If you get the time try and hit a few of the smaller places. When I was in Lyon i headed out to Annecy just south of...

Nice. If you do want to get to Oktoberfest try and book a hotel/hostel early, it can get booked out pretty quickly, and prices can be reasonably expensive. I was on exchange in Germany a few years ago and basically travelled the whole country, good times. If you are going to head to Europe...

Castle districts in Prague and Budapest. Versailles if you can spare the day (or half day) away from Paris. Vatican if you can in Rome. Heineken tour is always good value in Amsterdam, and the van Gogh museum is good. My 2 cents worth. Cracking trip you have planned :thumbsu: Enjoy :D

Depends on the date and day you go, but around the 20-25 euro mark according to my lonely planet. I forget the exact cost that i paid tbh. Then its extra for things like hiring a buggy (30 euro per hour), and the other areas of the park, like Marie Antoinettes Estate, which i'm pretty sure i...

Yeah i went to Versailles last time i was in Paris. Take the day, and start early in the morning. Grab tickets before you get there (theres places on the road up iirc), it will save a little time if the ticket queues are longish. Amazing place. Pack a picnic lunch and chill in the park.

So a reasonably normal flight into Wellington eh? :P Depends on when and where you go tbh. We went in April/May and trained Amsterdam-Brussels, Brussels-Ghent, Prague-Vienna, Vienna-Budapest, Paris-Bruges, Bruges-Amsterdam with no worries. The only painful one is the Eurostar, which you cant...

I missed the van Damme statue in Brussels  Lulz Also, Louis... Budapest is fabulous, Munich is nice as well, but if i had to pick one it would be Budapest every time. Germany is full of amazing places if you have the time, I spent 3 months there and did a fair bit of travelling around...

Definitely :thumbsu: Ghent is nice as well. Brussels is surprisingly great to visit to. Had a conference there last year, Belgium is a really nice place Damn you for bringing this up, now i want to go again. Damn that Sing flight is expensive  I flew that flight last April and it was...

Prague is a bitch to get to and fro via train, if you do Budapest, maybe stop in Vienna for the night? Its 5 hours train or so to there from memory, then another few to Budapest. I looked into eurail but decided against it, the Prague-Vienna-Budapest leg was pretty cheap and we flew out from...

Food, Drink & Dining Out Gluten free

I basically dropped bread from my diet when i started, but since moving over to NZ, the gf breads are a lot better than those in Aus. I can actually use the Vogel's gf breads in a sandwich  The gf range over here is actually pretty decent. Hells and Dominos do pizza, Burge Fuel do gf...

    Gluten free the nightmare

from what i recall when i was living in Aus woolies used to have a reasonable range of snack type foods, even their pizza base and cake mixes turned out pretty well. theres a gluten free pita bread/wrap thing that they do as well, use that as a quick and easy pizza base, turns out awesome, can...

    Contiki Tours

tru they r all optional, but for example who wouldn't go rafting when the alternative is to sit on the bus for 2 hours. most of them are worth doing but i skipped most of the dinners, ur better off findin ur own restaurants to eat at, less touristy, cheaper and better food from memory i went...

    Contiki Tours

the extras add up pretty quick, they dont tell you that before u go, but every stop or two theres something else u can do, eg rafting, mountain biking, jungfrau, moulin rouge, heinekin, gondolas. some of them are worth it, others arent, but it adds another 500 euro or so to ur trip like the...
