If we really wanted to keep LDU we should have secured his long-term contract extension before Sheezel since he has been with the club and been through the pain for longer. I think he's got a bee in his bonnet over this and other long-term contracts that were offered before his own.
In addition, I would also say to LDU, if you want to leave at the end of this season, you need to give us minimum 3 clubs you would be prepared to be traded to. That way we are not just tied down to negotiations with just one other club as you're never going to win in that situation.
Ideally...
We have to be firm with this as a club. We know that if he goes as a free agent at the end of next season we are likely to get pick 2 or 3 as compensation. So any offer for trade at the end of this season while he's still contracted needs to be pretty exceptional. If other clubs think we are...
You know there's nothing stopping LDU requesting a trade at the end of this season? Sure we would have to agree to a trade but players more often than not get their way these days.
Yep. Woke garbage.
Clubs have dieticians and fitness staff. That's what they are there for. Individually tailored meal plans. Workouts. Etc.
If players are on the verge of eating disorders, they are not listing to the experts employed by the club.
Not entirely sure that "unearthing a key defender should be the club's priority"
As it currently stands, I believe we have Logue, Comben, Wil Dawson and Kallan Dawson to work with moving forward. Between those 4, I think we will be fine. What we need is a bigger bodied midfielder, centre half...
We tried switching the play a number of times but the Hawks very quickly had our 2 or 3 options up the field covered. Could the guys further up the field have led harder? Probably.
At this point this season is a write off apart from finding out which players are going to be part of our future and which ones aren't.
It's time to throw the magnets around and by that, I mean play players in their positions they are naturally accustomed to.
I'm actually quite bullish about...
I'm not sure what Tyler is being told by the coaching staff but he really needs to get on his bike and lead, lead, lead! Larkey gave him the perfect block at one point and he should have taken off immediately but he didn't.
He's not getting involved in the play because he's not involving...
One thing that stood out to me was how stationary our players are. So many times, we get the ball on our half back flank and we're forced to go back over our mark only to look up ahead to see 15 blokes just standing on the spot. No one leading. No one trying to create space for someone to lead...
Yep, saw the exact same thing. I think it was in the last quarter. Ball was kicked to Chol on our fwd flank, Biggie was 5 or so meters away. Biggie never looked at the ball once, just watched Chol the whole time and in the end, Chol took a rather uncontested mark. That's just really bad football.
I'd go with poor results create poor mentality.
I grew up playing footy for several years in a side that would lose heavily most week's. With the exception of about 2 opposition teams, the other's you would go into the game knowing you had no real chance of winning. Doesn't mean I wouldn't try...
