I think 90% of North fans don't want him to walk for picks.
They want him to stay but if he doesn't want to sign, what does it matter what we want or what the club want or offer?
I think he's got the highest ceiling of any player at the club but if he wants to go and he's checked out mentally then we shouldn't stand in his way, provided we maximise what we get in return. If that's in a trade at the end of this year, great. If not, let him go via FA at the end of next...
I agree. The only reason I'd give it to Larkey is to protect Sheezel.
Captaining a pile of s**t would be an immense amount of weight for a 20 year old to carry.
The media will have a ball criticising the decision and painting the club as irresponsible.
Is there a better candidate for captaincy next year?
Maybe Larkey for a couple of years but I think it's inevitable that this bloke takes captaincy.
Poor kid.
Poor kid is playing one of the hardest positions on the ground in one of the worst teams in history as a skinny 18 year old.
A lot of posts lamenting the fact that we lost out on Harley Reid but when this kid's had a couple of pre-seasons under his belt and put on some muscle, he'll be the...
He actually didn't test at the national combine 2 years ago so I don't have data RE: athletic traits, but that's probably the main concern, along with his height at 175cm.
Personally, I think there's enough there to work with and see his potential ceiling as similar to what Liam Baker has achieved.
Something I'm confused about regarding Clarkson's gameplan is the difference between our performances in the AFL vs. VFL.
We're implementing the same thing in both competitions, with one side looking solid and the other perhaps the worst side in the competition's history.
These things are...
Draft best available, which is likely to be a midfielder.
Couldn't give a s**t what the media has to say regarding key position players.
The reality is there has not been a single key position player since 2020 who went soon after our first round selection that we should have selected above...
Three things that stood out yesterday:
1. The ease at which Hawthorn moved the ball from deep defence to at least centre wing was incredible, let alone from deep defence into their forward 50m to a forward in space. Even when we had time to setup defensively, they picked through it like it was...
If he plays he should be getting 50% CBA minimum and I'd be switching him and Wardlaw from the bench into the midfield throughout the game, with the rest of their time as high half forwards coming up to the stoppage.
If he starts as a sub we're wasting everyone's time.
I understand that this is a minority view but I genuinely feel we've got a lot of pieces on our list already.
I think we've got 4 big issues right now:
1. Leadership/experience
2. Structural issues
3. Confidence
4. A team with a lot of new faces who haven't played together and aren't...
Top 3 player on our list from a potential point of view (I'd argue best with only Sheezel possibly ahead), hitting prime age and we've got posters keen to trade him or see him go via FA. What's even crazier is that we've seen him chain together several games of elite level football over the last...
How is anyone having a go at Curtis for yesterday?
He's a not a high half forward so he's not going to rack up touches, plus the ball only ended up inside 50 31 times for the whole game, most of which were not directed to him, and most of which were horrific entries on the whole.
He's a deep...
GWS game was pleasing on the whole over the 4 quarters.
Fremantle game was great for a half and terrible otherwise.
Carlton game was good in spurts but it was our worst overall performance for the season.
After the first 3 games there were frustrations but you could see it in patches and it was...
100% agree. The media and Logan McDonald fanboys have a lot to answer for.

If you want a TLDR summary of the most damning:
Concerns I had around McDonald a year and a half ago that haven't gone away:
He...
'Should have taken Curtin' is the new 'Should have taken McDonald'.
Both scream 'I know nothing about football and just repeat stupid s**t I heard somewhere one time'.
Curtin is not a key position defender.
He has it. He's shown it at VFL level a number of times and had a few games at AFL level showing 'it'.
I'm a big Phillips fan and am hoping for the best, but his VFL performance was horrible.
Not referring to anyone specifically, but as supporters of the club we need to remember this when we're tempted to go early declaring Xerri a spud, Phillips a bust, Cunners an unfit slow plodder (if only we went Rohan), suggest Paul Curtis offers nothing and declare that even Blake Drury's mum...
Hard to answer this far out from the draft without a completed draft board, but my general perspective is that clubs tend to be too reluctant to trade back - I think we might end up in a position where it would make sense to do so.
I'll say something very few will agree with but so be it:
I genuinely think our list is good enough right now to win at least 6 games, and the only reason it's not more than that is because of how young our list is.
It's hard to pinpoint a singular issue, but something I think is having a...
Looked a little better in the last 10 minutes of the 2nd there.
Margin should probably be more than 5 goals, which in the modern game can be erased pretty quickly with a purple patch.
Please turn up after half time
I'm not sure any line is covering themselves in glory, but there have been numerous situations where the defenders should be halving it in contested situations and Curnow and Mckay are marking it.
Our inability to even split a contest with Mckay or Curnow in it is embarrassing.
Impossible to get close from here if all they need to do is kick it in their direction and they'll retain possession.
Maley and Comben have been immense and the 2 best for us.
Phillips has looked tired the whole game. Tuned in hoping to see him stake a claim for the 1's with a dominant performance but it might be the worst VFL performances he's put together. Hopefully he puts in a big last quarter and/or steps...
