Seriously, this doctor is like the goofy neighbour on a sit-com - written in purely to get the 'look at this idiot' laughs.

Think Sagan might have been harshly done by. If you watch closely some d!ckhead is holding his phone out on a selfie stick - if Sagan had held his line he would have worn it right in the face. He takes an immediate reflex action to avoid it.

It's all right, though - the testosterone was for a 'staff member' - not a cyclist. Probably delivered by avian pigs, as well.
Get it fixed - probably replaced. If it's badly bent, it may break. If it breaks, you will probably crash.
Not worth fiddling about to save a couple of bucks. Let the experts look at it.
All TUEs should be banned (at the top professional level). If you can't compete without them - the Paralympics are that way.
However, does that mean some sportspeople should not be allowed to compete professionally at the top level if they use vision enhancers (spectacles, contact lenses etc)...
First thing - can you borrow a mate's bike for a few rides and see if it is really what you want? Even just $1000 (cheap for a roadie) is a lot of money to be sitting in the shed, if you decide after 3 rides that it is not your thing. Some people get back, butt, knee issues immediately on...
It is really tough. I can understand why people take the drugs in many sports - if you are a junior and have spent all your life training, practising, working towards reaching the highest level in your sport, only to find out that UNLESS you cheat (drugs) you can't compete.
I know we all think...
Just another team of doping cheats - pushing legalities to the limits (TUEs) and then outright hiding the dodgy stuff.
And now they are linked in with British Cycling - who won all those gold medals at the last few Olympics.
Nicole Cooke has just taken a huge dump on Tean Sky.
For those of you who don't know her, Nicole Cooke is Britain's highest profile female cyclist. She's been a multiple World Champion on the road and I think has Olympic medals. National Hero. This is not some muck-raking journalist, or...
Here's something I wrote about Radcliffe when she was accused of doping a year or so ago.
Here's a very good (probably too detailed) article about off-scores and Paula Radcliffe.

And just at the bottom - a graph...
The interesting thing will be if any tennis players or footballers are named. There was always a suspicion that the original investigation had the brakes put on because if they named/suspended everyone, Spanish sport would basically implode.
Spanish Football is just about the most powerful...
Which valves have you got - presta or Schrader? Presta are very thin, Schrader are basically like car valves.
A month is short time to go completely flat - but prestas can if the valve locking nut is not screwed down.
In terms of component spec - a lot of it is wank. For example - of you use Shimano gears, brakes and cranks, Tiagra (2nd lowest spec) is pretty good and will do most people fine. The roadbike levels up are:
Basic 'Shimano' branded - Intro bike level. (Sometimes branded 'Tourney').
Tiagra -...
Handlebars, stems, seat heights are all variable. Have a play. Just because you have been fitted out according to some formula doesn't mean that will be right for you - it's a start, but that's it. You have your own muscles, joints, flexibility, back problems, etc. The shape of your saddle...
O'Grady was runner-up to Zabel 3 years in a row for the Green Jersey. So they get awarded to him, right?:)
The most interesting thing to come out in recent weeks (not especially cycling-related) is the report into West German doping from the 50s. It was state-sanctioned and not done just...
He owned up after he retired. In other words, he cheated and (probably) continued to cheat and earn millions in salary. Now he's too old. Don't paint his admission as some form of noble sentiment. His 'owning up' was rather like being caught with the black mask and the bag marked 'Swag' and...
Why not? The guy set out to cheat. He knew what was around - he could have chosen to blow the whistle, or walk away. Instead, he decided to join in. No different to Armstrong, or any of the others.
Look, I've read the justifications. I accept that if you were a top level cyclist, the...
Pretty clear Liggett picked up the 'Sagan Wins' script about 5kms out, and didn't have anything else.
Oh well, at least we know 'They've caught all the drug taking riders now, and the Peleton is basically clean' - just like the last 100 years.
Magnificent bit of coverage for SBS there - have the 30 min preamble in the studio, and than the second they cut to the live pictures, the guy right at the front whips out the old fella for a mobile comfort break.
Cycling has had a massive presence in Europe for a century. Just because the US started to notice it because an American started doing well doesn't mean the sport 'shot into prominence'.
The history of cycling is not written in english. That's why the americans didn't pay much attention to...
That's true. The fact is he got off. He may not have beaten the test, but he beat the conviction. Result, according to the public, 'He didn't dope'. If there is the slightest doubt, they hire a big-money lawyer (sometimes with the sponsor's money - after all it is in the sponsor's interest...
