AFL rejects North Melbourne's request to have opposition songs banned from their home games

Idiotic idea, surprised anyone suggested it and sorry it was my club. Never heard of it until tonight and hope to never hear of if again. But crowd gags from a Melbourne supporter? And Port? Pls.

    Moved Thread North Melbourne Dynasty

Not forgetting the OP's call that Drew will be in top form for another decade. Until he's 40. Whatever helps to while away a dull day, I suppose!

Lost me when you said Jack will be like Leigh Matthews, but better. All very nice but I don't need another dynasty, I'm just having fun watching the footy.

Moved Thread Too many Victorian clubs

I believe any overpopulation problem in AFL, or in the world to use the OP's analogy, is better addressed with some inventive thinking than with killing those that are living already, however inconveniently. Great thread idea, though. Five stars from me.

Moved Thread And so Essendon's inevitable slide begins.....

I enjoy an Essendon loss as much as anyone, but it's silly to write off a team that can score nine goals in a quarter, no matter what else they stuffed up in the first three quarters. And if you're going to have a bit of a slide, then the top of the ladder is a fair place to start - you'll...

Moved Thread If North miss the finals with their soft draw is Brad Scott in serious trouble?

That's one of the oddities of the fixture. North, like Adelaide, gets one more game against the new clubs than everyone else. Richmond's season is clearly front loaded, by comparison to most clubs, not just North, but I think we've covered all this already.

Moved Thread If North miss the finals with their soft draw is Brad Scott in serious trouble?

Begs the question - why would power brokers want to hand over to a guy who wasn't good enough for the job three years ago? He'd barely rate getting to be caretaker again, let alone senior coach. Love him but as a coach he's no world beater.

Moved Thread If North miss the finals with their soft draw is Brad Scott in serious trouble?

Sure they do. As did the shelllackings North had under Pagan and Laidley. There was no magic Shinboner Spirit hovering over Arden St constantly then either. You said supporters not on BF care more when stuff like this happens. I suggested maybe they don't. Not worth getting so aggressive...

Moved Thread If North miss the finals with their soft draw is Brad Scott in serious trouble?

Or maybe the vast majority of supporters who don't come on BF have shrugged their shoulders, gone and had their dinner and got on with life without angst about the NMFC? Sneer away with the very well-worn Kumbaya label, but I don't see why hanging around here gloating that you know better...

Fair dinkum, who quotes their own post and says this? Bad day today, the kind of day for supporters that makes the good times better. I'm still luckier the the oldtimers who watched Shinboner spirit bring in wooden spoons and no flags for fifty years. A miracle clubs pay coaches when there's...

Moved Thread If North miss the finals with their soft draw is Brad Scott in serious trouble?

If anything, I'd have said he's a pony of too many tricks. This year is very different to last year, then last week was completely different to the month before. Players seem unclear on what to do and clearly supporters are confused. No way of knowing from here how much of the problem is...

Moved Thread If North miss the finals with their soft draw is Brad Scott in serious trouble?

I can't speak for everyone, and I know there are some North supporters who have had outrageously inflated views on our players, but I don't buy the last few posts. Most of our supporters probably thought, like me, that after a couple of years where the side routinely beat lower-ranked teams...

Moved Thread If North miss the finals with their soft draw is Brad Scott in serious trouble?

I get what you're saying, fd, but it doesn't help that you choose to mock supporters who see a different reality to you, or valuable things the club has been doing to be part of our community again after so nearly being lost. As a supporter, I also grieved when my team got pasted in finals in...

That was me, and I heard/saw Brad say it in discussing selection last week, on the club website.

In 1940 the Shinboners finished last with 4 wins, you duffer. And you could argue that 9th of 18 is better than 9th of 17 is better than 9th of 16, so each year represents progress. ;)

Moved Thread Where are the North Supporters this week

I'm still here too. Not many of us got too carried away, but last week was exciting. Hardly a surprise this round has created less excitement, although there has been plenty of chat, mostly on or own board. And no need to tell us about the past few years, we've watched every week. Beat...

Mike Sheahan agrees, North must Relocate or Die

Re: Mike Sheahan agrees, Norf must Relocate or Die Actually it's been going on for 142 years now, but otherwise you are spot on. I'll even wear the cockroach reference in the grudgingly respectful spirit in which I think it was intended. Especially as your club has done more than most to...

Mike Sheahan agrees, North must Relocate or Die

Yawn. As old as Sheahan is, this story is older. Yet the club continues to exist and to do quite nicely, thanks. We just passed an anniversary of saving our club from relocation, and celebrating the fact it is unrecognisable since then - it will take more than the bleating of a few sad sacks...

    Mod. Notice Vale: Toots Hibbert

Bay 13 is like a rough bar I've always been too scared to enter. But I had to drop in to add my sadness at hearing this news. Toots made Bigfooty a better place and we'll miss him - my thoughts with his family and friends in their loss.

Buckley a Magpie - official *MB Thread*

Re: Buckley a Magpie - official Good luck to Buckley. I was excited at the idea of getting him as coach, but I clearly misjudged his state of readiness atm for senior coaching, and his motivatation, which is mroe about Cllingwood than football after all - glad he worked it all out before...

Woud any North Melbourne players make Hawthorn's best 22? ** MB Thread **

Re: Woud any North Melbourne players make Hawthorn's best 22? LONG BOMBS TO SNAKE! Cheers to all the serious Hawks supporters, should be another good contest this weekend. And despite some silliness it is great to have a genuine rivalry back amongst the class of '25 (and '75).
