did I say he wants out? or did I merely suggest him as a trade candidate to make us better?
I put the acid test on your and Ant - name someone in our team that can be traded to make us better?
far out dude, you got grumpy when people didn't like your proposal of Nick Cox to CHB for a game but you do the same rebuttals to others?
Reading between the lines, he ain't signed.
Agreed but Maloney wanted in with Cats when they traded for Ottens. Sometimes hard decisions need to be made to make the club better.
I'm only reading between the lines until he signs a new contract, if he does, great, no problems.
I have no doubt what you have said is correct, I have heard that as well. No arguments against that theory.
And by me putting Stringers name on the table I have to accept some hate mail from passionate Essendon supporters (not that your response is)
But I put it out there that Joe should be...
First I love the best of Stringer but look at the facts, Is he signed??? No. Why not?
Does he take overhead marks? Has he ever got fit enough to play 70/30 mid-forward, not even 50/50. Are his constant soft tissue injuries going to hamper him in 3 years time, he wants 4 years, is that going to...
Norf should be offering him the most with the promise to play with his brother, get fierce and threaten to walk him into PSD or take a trade deal that whilst handy is still slight unders.
At worse they drive his price up.
What's the knock on Callow that may see him drop? I mean he wasn't drafted or rookied and was training at Hawks who could have picked him up as a supplementary pick. Got to be a reason.
Exactly plus the fact that Wright turns slower than the Titanic, IMO he just isn't suitable to the forward press that truck and co are trying to implement hence when he plays there is a breakdown in structure that allows the opposition to sneak out the back of, which Freo displayed to aplomb...
They’d be fools, they haven’t drafted a key forward since Cloke landed at the club and it’s a major weakness of their list.... unless they don’t rate him?
Can’t he do that as a wingman? I see him having an Anthony Koutafides at full flight like impact on the game in 3-4 years.
Not that he’ll be as big muscle wise to burst through the middle but to float down back to take those big intercept marks but to then assert his influence on the game and...
Depends who they are?? What status they have within the club? What leadership can they provide to incoming youngsters and if they themselves can be serviceable at senior level if called upon?
Terry Daniher and Madden went back to reserves in 92 and I think that helped fast track the younger...
Ambrose can stay too, I actually think he should be in the seniors now so he’s good enough insurance player for next year.
You have to consider we don’t have a round 2 pick next year so at this stage we don’t have enough draft capital to suggest a high influx of talent coming in like last year.
It's still development, they don't have a bunch leaders within the team to drive them to greatness. They are given games based on talent rather than having to force their way into sides.
Melbourne and Carlton have faced similar issues when they have gone full rebuild.
Isn’t this the beauty of trading? If you want the proven commodity in Cerra, McKay or a Dunkley you have to pay for it because their club does not want to let them go. Funny because we want these players for bargain basement prices.
For those that are available for possible trade we as...
I like Dunkley but again the cost of trade is too high.
I'd rather us just hit the draft hard again, keep our salary cap in place that allows to add the correct player via free agency when that time comes to bolster.
I agree but he did break the news that Coniglio would be dropped last year about 2 weeks before it happened.
I like Cerra's kicking skills but I'm not sure he's the player we need that will take our midfield to next level.
And I think anything more than a future first and maybe Guelfi type...
Has he done anything this year that suggests he will become a senior AFL player of substance? For example if he wasn’t the brother of Tom would anyone be talking about him as a prospective draftee?
