List Mgmt. Adelaide Crows 2021 List Management thread

A stand-off between Port and Sydney over Dawson through Trade Period will serve us well. We can slide on in late and let him skip through to the PSD.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

I believe that tomorrow Hamish and Justin will be informing Nicks, Burns and Kelly who they will be taking with the #1 pick.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Hollands is the SuperCoach pick you really, really want but you just can't coz there's "that other guy" on the board. You can't have them both, but you can't not take the other guy. So we'll be taking the other guy. Hollands, and the other tall, will be the one that got away and for the next...

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Gary has no buccan idea. He has little interest in anything outside his Victoria centric bubble. The number of articles I've read of his over the years we he clearly gets AFC things wrong is astounding.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Very much so. Any one of Tex, Eddie, Charlie, Gov, Lynch and JJ could kick a bag of 5+ goals in any given game. It all went pear-shaped so very quickly though.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

When was the last time we were a week out from the Draft and genuinely had 3-4 names in the mix to be called out first? I know it's a year like no other, but makes for a much watch Draft telecast. And I love how it's the AFC making the call for once that will shape the entire top 10. Not...

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

I preferred it when we were debating whether Brian Bienke was the greatest 30-game AFL forward of the modern era.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Huh?! Brodie Smith is 194 cm! 189 maybe. Unless you're talking about a different Smith on the AFC books. Darren Smith???

Well if the wi-fi drops out and the Bulldogs can't log back into the ZOOM call, time runs out and Jamarra is all ours. It's a shot worth taking!

I disagree. Impossible at this stage from a small sample size to claim they're that far apart.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

100% agree with that. Talls take their time to reach full potential. No matter whether it's McDonald or Thilthorpe there'll most likely be a mid who has a better rookie season. You've got to give a top draft pick 3 seasons in my opinion before they really can be judged. I'm fine with...

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

For the first time in history we have a #1 pick. There are 2 guys without much between them in the mix for it. One happens to be a local boy....the first top 5 SA lad we could ever have. Yet this board will go into meltdown if we select him!! Classic AFC fan base logic. We really HAVE turned...

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Yeah....nah. No chance he leaves a team on the rise. No way.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

It is indeed. I got an 18/20 for my last reading comprehension test. Look....we can sit here and argue about Brian Bienke until the cows come home. Fact is, he was a less than average player who played 30+ games for the AFC. Was he a good a mark as Jason Porplyzia, Brett Burton, and currently...

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Best mark in the history of the game since football was invented. Pick 1.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Apologies. I didn't realise this was the "Brian Bienke Appreciation Page". I watched every one of his games. The guy was fairly average. 7 touches a game and 9 games a season over 4 seasons would back this claim. So no...he wasn't the best mark the AFC ever had as one poster stated.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Yeah...the 9 marks he took in his career were outstanding. 🤪

You sound like we're all Knicks fans when Kristaps Porzingis was selected. Disappointed is a strong word to use for a guy that's a very, very good player.

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

Whoever we get at 9 the club will say was "in the mix for our first pick" and "we had him in the top 3 of this Draft".

    Opinion 2020 Draft #2: 1/9/22/23/40/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, Haw 4th, Freo 4th)

This sounds like draft collusion. Once the AFL hear of this they'll strip us of pick 1.

We may not even want Hollands. If 6 other clubs pass on him, we could too.

"top" SA draft picks ...not guys late in the first round. Top 10's since 2005 - Bryce Gibbs, Jackson Trengove*, Sam Day, Jared Polec*, Dan Gorringe, Jimmy Toumpas*, Sam Mayes*, Matt Scharenberg, James Aish, Aaron Francis, Luko, Rankine, Dylan Stephens. *And of those 4 did come back to SA...

    Opinion 2020 Draft picks 1/9/22/23/40/56/66/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, 4th, Haw 4th)

They're not coming home. Forget it. They both had a chance to do so and shut the door by signing early extensions before we even knocked on it. Gold Coast in a far better position than AFC over the next 5 years. They'll play a massive part in that. Why come home? Our only hope will be when...

    Opinion 2020 Draft picks 1/9/22/23/40/56/66/80 (2021 + Melb 2nd, 4th, Haw 4th)

I know North are a current basket case of an organisation, but even they wouldn't entertain that trade! Wishful posters seem to think pick 22 is this magical draft pick that clubs will be licking their lips for. It's not. It's a shithouse pick that'll end up being pick 27 or 28. Stop packaging...

    a) we've never done that and never will. b) he's a very good player, but not an instant match-winner who can demand a million dollar a year salary. c) in the history of recent high SA draft picks (top 5) that move interstate who has come back to the AFC in their absolute prime? d) we are...
