Think that's been the case for a while now...
We really can't afford too many more injuries or I think our seniors performance will start to drop.
Examples:
If Gov gets injured who's next in...one of Kemp and Plowman? Both have question marks
Only KPD depth is Durdin and he's unproven at AFL...
Not watching the game but is it that wet?
Not great conditions for 2 rucks and 3 tall forwards then.
Richmond struggled with that last night and subbed Ryan off for a smaller player at half time and looked way better.
Hoping we stick with Kemp mainly as third tall defender.
Probably his best position and chance of making the 22.
Gov and marchbank always injured and I'd rather not go back to Plow if we can.
Good to hear and not surprising.
Think we've built a good culture over the years. Prob has goof mates at the club...I think he's still living with Walsh
Sounds plausible...give him a better chance to revive his career.
He'd pretty much fallen so far down our pecking order he wouldn't get a game this year.
Brought this up before, but does anyone know more details about the Willo situation?

He always defended well, even at Essendon.
Hate that Essendon's PR piece saying he doesn't defend AFTER he chose to join us has influenced the narrative around Saad.
He literally finished 3rd in their B&F at the end of 2020...he doesn't finish that high if he 'doesn't defend'. Don't believe...
This is a pet peeve of mine too.
See so much said about playing Marchbank and Kemp types on the wing...presumably because they are tall and relatively athletic.
But those 2 would get torched on a wing by the gun wingers in the comp. I don't think their endurance and speed is as good as some...
Think some of that might be by design at times.
Heard Durdin talking about the smalls working hard to make space for the forwards.
So sounds like we aim to get our key forwards 1v1 in a lot of space...makes it hard for the smalls to be at the drop of the ball then. Other teams might do that...
We do need Hayes actually as our wing positions have been a rotating door so far this year.
And our midfield depth isn't actually that great if curnow retires and one of Setterfield/Dow get moved on at the end of the year.
Also no one else took Ballenden and there is other clubs who need KPPs...
Owies has been a gun the last 2 weeks. Kicking goals and leading the way with defensive tackles and pressure. I think Vossy would love that and he's not even close to getting dropped.
Durdin has been a bit inconsistent, which you'd expect from a 2nd year small forward. But again he puts out...
Thought Durdin did some nice things, some not so nice.
Definitely not writing him off based on that. Gotta cut the guy some slack playing for a new team, after moving state etc.
I think I'd be ok with that for a MSD pick depth KPD.
Let's not forget it's his first game with a new team and he's moved to a new state, new house etc. Wouldn't be an easy transition.
I hope we persist with him as a forward.
We have Gov, Marchbank and Plow ahead of him as 3rd tall defenders.
But we have no tall forward depth. Seems an ok kick at goal.
Kemps not really anything right now...a classic 'versatile, could play anywhere' type that ultimately can't play anywhere.
He's not a key defender, he's not a good forward. He isn't going to be a mid for us.
His only position might be third tall defender and that's about it.
Yeah based on Charlie's first handful of games back from injury ud just be happy for Marchy to play his role and get through unscathed.
Though he was in pretty good nick in the VFL games so who knows, he may have a ripper.
North's list management has been horrible for some time...big reason they're in their current situation.
IIRC 2020 was an absolute shitshow for North in the hubs under Shaw. Not a happy group.
I do think Durdin has to wear some of the blame though...Mckay came through around the same time and...

Nick Austin:
"He’s been one of our strongest performers at VFL level, along with a handful of others and he’s improved his game. He’s probably had to play a bit more inside due to personnel and other...
Haha noticed Austin mentioning this about Durdin:
"He has barely missed a game since going back to South Australia and he’s performed to a really high standard in a quality competition."
It's kind of an odd thing to specifically point out, so I think he has durability as a big consideration.
Heard he was a bit laconic when at North...hopefully given it's his 2nd chance he's not like that anymore. And our coaches/players may instil a bit more mongrel in him...I feel like Young's gotten tougher the longer he's with us.
Would be awesome if he was like Sam Taylor/Sam Collins...I love...
