This is good to appease the normies, it's still fairly bullshit.
Part of the luxury of having the number #1 pick is that you're drafting a player whose floor is already so high that they don't need much development to reach their full potential.
SPS at #6 wasn't a speculative pick, but he was...
Absolutely gutted. A good trade for Cerra can't even soften this blow, especially given that Sammo is the exact type of player needed to balance that midfield.
Wish him the best.
'It just didn't work out' is doing a lot for a player who is only 23 and has been mismanaged for relatively his entire career.
Failure is on the club, both old and new admins, if the end result is trading him out for a lowly pick.
Was in the mix as one of the best 3 or 4 full backs in the game for a few years.
In his prime, loved how he would carry the ball out of the back 50.
Great that we got to see 150 games out of him. Walks and Jamo in a week is tough, but the future is bright.
2011 for anyone in the their mid 20s and younger would have to be their best memory of a Carlton season.
Walks was as a big a part of that year as any, and I still remember the buzz after the Essendon game (both of them).
It's a shame he'll join a bunch of other heroes in that era who never...
Problem right now is that he's doing it alone in the middle.
Leads the league in clearances, but we're last as a team. Stating the obvious, but desperately need a couple of blue-chip prospects in there to go with him. A pressing need, even more than finding a genuine key forward.
All but rules us out of drafing a ruck, was hoping we'd look at Chol/Nyuon. But Gorringe is a handy pickup, if he can nail a kpp spot than we'll be doing alright.
Identify those that have shown talent and keep it. Simple.
Forgot about Korchek, but would be against them keeping Warnock past this season. And Wood will be gone when his contract runs out next season. That's 4 if you draft Chol or Nyuon.
Don't know about this Goddard but can't imagine we'd...
Good thing about Philips is that he can play seniors if need be.
Would like to see them draft one of the Sudanese boys to develop, and go with 4 ruckmen on the list.
Richmond supporters think their team is on the up and up. Not sure why they don't want to part with next year's first? Clearly going to be in the 17-18 range.
Cheers, thought I read something about futures having some sort of AFL imposed protection if a club bottoms out, which sounded ridiculous, but I'm glad isn't the case.
Dude is such a unique player. Combination of upper body strength with leg speed is a huge asset to have. Avg 21 touches and nearly a goal a game. Not to mention played all 22. Huge loss in the rebuild, but best of luck to the lad.
How much talk has there been on here about that 2012 draft?
SOS takes Whitfield, O'Rourke, Plowman with the first 3 picks. Stringer, Macrae, Wines go in the picks after.
We pick up Jaksch, rating him as the 5th best prospect in that draft. But are we to assume Rogers`first four was Stringer...
Play him in the development league if Richmond don't want to part with their first rounder. Couldn't care less if Yarran is unhappy. This isn't a charity.
