What year did we knock off the Swiss, also in Melbourne? Probably last time an Aussie beat Federer in a big game!!!
5 set games were pretty much the norm for Aussie men in those days, don’t think they knew how to win in straight sets!!!
Those were the days when Aussie men were in finals!!!
That’s right Hewitt win US in 2001, think we won Davis Cup in 2001? And then Hewitt won Wimbledon 2002.
Thanks, so we'd know if there were cases linked to the bloke who's tested positive after leaving the country?
It is surprising they don't do tests after each match just to be sure
Well the rule is they must sign in if you are eating in but not required for takeaway. But after we came out of lockdown the Government still didn't have anything ready despite NSW and other states having the system in place for months at that stage so businesses have to do it themselves.
Back...
What I more meant is everyone in Sydney does it because that's what's been set up and has been for a while. In Victoria its up to each individual business to adopt their own check in processes, so most are just pen and paper.
I haven't signed in anywhere except at cricket, because our cricket teams can set up qr codes much quicker than the Victorian government could.
If Covid is actually as rife as they say, why would I want to use the same pen 100 other people have used already? At least at the cricket nets who...
NSW had over 100 active cases and the cricket went ahead with crowds and like every other sporting event in the last 12 months in Australia, no transmission occurred!!!
You can be exercising on the lawn watching the big screen ;)
But still the 11:30 kick out was stupid, it assumes everyone is 35+ minutes from home because there is no law saying you must be at home.
Actually they don't have to be home by midnight, no dumbass curfews this time. If someone lives within 5km of the stadium there is no reason they can't stay!
He was still on centre court! Why should he be moved?
I’d be happier with the game on Margaret Court as that’s the best value with Covid but Melbourne arena is still good, much cheaper than RLA.
A lot, every day during Victoria’s second wave there’d be ‘reclassifications’ but no one knew what they were. But now there’s less cases the false positives become known.
Pretty sure all the cases so far amongst tennis players have been people who’ve had it but are no longer infectious yet the tests are coming up positive.
Victoria sent someone to QLD who was still positive yet they’ll lock up the tennis players.
Has anyone bought tickets to the Open this year? Is it just me or do they seem a lot more expensive this year? $100+ for concession for MCA, I don't think I'd ever have paid that before!
It does seem a bit strange they didn't try for the AFL option of having a resort style accommodation where they wouldn't even need to leave the grounds for 14 days.
I suppose it's likely that most places are pretty booked up for school holidays, but surely there would be places that would have...
Why would Melbourne lose the tournament?
There are dozens of cases being brought in all the time, if the Governments quarantine program can’t handle a few cases from the tennis then a third wave is inevitable anyway. But of course someone will probably blame the tennis and look, you’re getting...
Really good article by Sam Groth in the Hun about selfish tennis players and what a great job Tiley has done to get them this far.
