It's attitude more than anything, he's last to leave the training track at times - always looking to improve and get better. We've recruited players on attitude and football brain for a while now (suttcliffe, neale, etc). Which for a few years freaked us supporters out when we had our list of...
Great post :)
Heading back to our board, but wanted to say thank you to all of you for being gracious in discussion before the game, and after. Still my second team :)
Best of luck for the rest of the season!
I always find it funny - I can't bring myself to boo a champion player, from any side. I pay the $$ to watch the best go at it, and when they pull out something ridiculous, how can you get angry :P
Yeah agreed. The report was there. Up to the MRP now.
Nar - we're good :) Had some good...
Yeah in my block I've got some families around me - and few of the old cobbers that sit behind me are great to discuss matchups and strategy with. The block is generally well behaved - but there are two old ladies that sit near the back that manage to drown out everyone else. The problem with...
Then I guess it's up to the rest of us who are positive, respectful and level headed to change that view eh ;) I'd like to think we're not a one-eyed supporter mob and can discuss things on merits, both here on the board and at the games. I'm sorry you've had a negative experience
Back to the...
It was 12-1 your way at half time, and the game ended 25-11 your way. It's the non-calls though that hurt, decisions went both ways on the non-calls which is probably what you really mean. We had a few early, and you had a lot late. Overall the umpiring was horrid.
Edit - I replied to your...
Good game guys, you're travelling well and a pleasure to watch. Heart pounding stuff
Bonts might have kicked it to Johnno a few times but he also roved to Sandi brilliantly a few times - took clean possession at the hitout. He'll be a gun, beautiful to watch
Come visit our board regarding...
90% :) he flagged himself out for a week off with a bit of calf tightness. It's not like he had done damage and was recovering from a strain - I can't imagine him not playing this week. If he does miss it will be either reward for Pearce doing well in his debut, or being super conservative with...
I was curious in the case of Jong - whether he's good to go or will be held over.
I mistakenly thought he'd fractured his hand against the Saints and not Sydney though - so 10 day recovery with an 8 day break seemed a stretch, opposed to a 2 week recovery which he should be fine for :) The...
Seppo I believe is doing a preview thread of the game this week on our board - should be a good one. Feel free to drop by and provide correction/insight when it goes up
Yeah same goes - you'll find a lot of us have you as our second team. Even our players like you guys - Fyfe was asked once who (if he could choose anyone) in the league he'd want in Freo and he said Bonts :P Neale has a man-crush on him too.
For me a banter thread is not about angst or talking...
Taberner is 197, Pav 192, Clarke (resting ruck) 203 - those are our main talls up forward.
Underrated post :)
We had Mcpharlin tap himself out at the first sign of a niggle. It's a long season. We've learnt the hard way in the past having players play on, and then losing them for 4-6 weeks.
Well hopefully the 8 day break helps, and you field the best team possible. It's better for both sides to continually go up against the best. Looking forward to the game
Found this amusing. We've sent a B's side to Tasmania before when playing Hawthorn, and we did it against the Saints in 2013. Needed the rest in the lead up to the finals. This season we've been managing players during games, rotating midfielders forward and back and sitting defenders on the...
Sometimes you just need to see it :) We're not as fanatical in our knowledge of the doggies as you guys are - but lesson learnt ;) It was a good game, but moreso than that - you lot are the best supporters I've had the pleasure of chatting with. Would love to see you all again in September :)...
Ross doesn't even do the Harvey and play ducks and drakes with the team lists - I remember how refreshing it was last season when the team would line up exactly as it was published.
Mind you he's got Kepler playing back pocket on our team list - which is probably more an in-joke than any...
Probably, but even so I'm not sure how much use that information would be - given the depth of opposition analysis teams go through. Ross has always been firm in us playing to our gameplan, and letting other teams react to us - so I doubt we have much to hide in how we go about it. Also Lower...
