Treloar money? Brown might be on a bit more money I suppose.

From my perspective it was obvious Martin was on his last legs even then though and English would become the no.1 ruck. Also I don't think it would be slow...Bruce and Brown are actually quite mobile for key forwards. Even if Bruce didn't get injured, I think Dogs could have done with another...

This is looking back at history but does anyone know if there's a known reason why you didn't chase Ben Brown? He was basically pushed out by his club like Treloar and went for unders...to Melbourne and he helped them win a premiership. It didn't seem like there were many keen suitors which I...

Autopsy Doomsday - Diabolical Dogs Downed by Blues

KPPs take years to develop. McKay and Curnow are in their 6th year of footy. Outside that you have a list that can contend, so surely Dogs look to trade in mature KPPs to challenge for a flag now.

Autopsy Doomsday - Diabolical Dogs Downed by Blues

Bad luck guys, I have a soft spot for the Doggies. Not sure how much Bevo is involved in list management, but I do feel for him given the unbalanced nature of the list he's working with, with so many good mids but not many good KPPs. He's kinda hamstrung and makes it tough to coach. Libba was...

Berko Bevo vs. the former Muckraker Morris in the Round 1 presser

Clearly emotions got the better of Bevo...deep down his issue clearly is with the leaker. His outburst at Morris was about how his public airing of things like leaked team selection was obviously highlighting to him they have a leaker and a problem...he then describes this as causing 'turmoil'...

Berko Bevo vs. the former Muckraker Morris in the Round 1 presser

'These kinds of matters'...like what, receiving info from a Bulldogs official about a player being dropped and reporting it? How is that a big deal? It's essentially the same as them reporting that an injured player is back, or a debutant will play. It's not his fault or problem that the Dogs...

Prediction Changes v Carlton Round 8

Not much to worry about except Harry McKay so you'll be fine. Casboult is clearly playing injured, McGovern just got injured and obviously Charlie Curnow is out. Jack Silvagni is injured but may return, though he's not a big key forward. If we had all of McKay, Casboult, McGovern and Charlie...

Prediction Changes v Carlton Round 8

Doggies would probably win either way but is English coming back for this one? I really hope not as he's a good player and Schache looks to be a weak link.

With 2 years on his contract Doggies have all the power...Essendon would need to give up a lot. I'm sure if held to his contract, Dunkley will be professional and play well next season unless he has massive issues with the club, which I doubt. In recent times guys like...

Strategy Trade and List management Thread Part 4 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

Interesting...cause if you have the cap space, from my POV Brown would fit you extremely well. You blokes like to flick the ball around and get the ball moving quickly...Brown is tall, reasonably athletic and likes to mark on the lead. Having Brown leading up and Naughton sitting deep for the...

Gotta say I'm a little surprised that you guys didn't seem to have any interest in Ben Brown. Would have thought he'd be a perfect support for Naughton as a mature lead up forward, allowing Naughton to stay deeper. He's also proven to be a capable support ruck, so he could ruck say 20% of game...

Autopsy Dogs lose to the Tankers 103 - 51

Those 2 and Keath were good. Keath was very solid down back, great off season pick up. Plus Smith of course. Not sure how Macrae got 5 coaches votes though and the most for the Dogs...I didn't think he had much of an influence at all.

Autopsy Dogs lose to the Tankers 103 - 51

Agreed. Smith was more influential last night and looks a beauty but he's playing centre square mid...right in the action. Walsh was too last year when he won the RS and regularly getting disposals in the high 20's. However this year he's been pushed out to a wing position, hence his...

Autopsy Dogs lose to the Tankers 103 - 51

Isn't that the issue with Schache though? He needs time, space and a lace out pass to be effective...anyone can be effective in that circumstance. Vandemeer was your best forward and could have had a big night if he kicked straighter. Bruce at least appeared to try hard and get to good spots...

Game Day Round 6 v Carlton

The contrast in style will be interesting. Has the potential to hurt your fast ball movement game style of flicking it around...but that 'surge' style can work in the wet with a few tweaks. We've gone in pretty tall, so the wet could hurt our main strength which is our tall forwards marking...

Lachie Hunter - Alleged bloody idiot

You're right, but the conspiracy theory is what are the chances that out of all the places he could have been and cars he hit, it just happened to be at Smith's girlfriend's house while he was there? That seems like an almighty coincidence... Was he picking up Smith to join him at Gowers'...

Very strong chance we also see him playing mostly forward, with stints in midfield. High half forward type. According to Ch 7 his relationship with Petrevski-Seton was a large influence on him choosing Carlton.

Keath would be a massie get for the dogs imo...if it's down to money i reckon you should be able to beat the other suitors like St Kilda if it's true they are throwing $900k at Hill. And from Keath's perspective, Dogs much more likely to have immediate success than Saints.

Once you nominate a club publicly as a player you're locked in to that club. Probably doing himself a disservice in the off chance another club (eg Collingwood) want to come in late with an increased offer, because if he's nominated he shuts them out. Also at this early stage, maybe puts too...

Soft as butter. IMO you'd regret picking him up, especially in games when the heat is on and he has less time and space.

I agree, can you leave him to us thanks ;) Surprised to hear all these reports and rumours that Dogs offer is very good and certainly better than ours. We'd also have plenty of cash given we were throwing well over a million a year at Coniglio...i guess your recruiters just rate him higher...

Not everyone who posts a rumour is a 'ITK'...he was widely ridiculed by our board. We have a handful of credible ones with long posting histories with high success rates that we actually listen to and believe. They do seem to suggest club is confident and comfortable with the Martin situation...

Does Bevo play a big role in your recruiting? If not, i reckon criticism of him is a bit harsh because i don't really rate your recent list management decisions (no offence)...and Bevo is being hamstrung by those decisions (though agree some decisions are baffling, like picking the 2 debutants...

Review Dogs Completely Out Coached By Beveridge: Lose Badly To Blues

Is it all the other defenders fault though? Looked like Daniel was actually playing that sweeper or roaming role down back. Also if there's a quick turnover after a Daniel kick in he'll naturally be deep in defence. Now if i'm another dogs defender, the defence has a structure to hold...
