Brett Lee's action is impeccable compared to Lawson's, elbow is more bent than the board of HIH.
Seriously, the pic in the Sydney Tele and the Melbourne Hun was very damning.
Re: Re: 03-04
Poor old Richie (or whoever does the into's these days). Can just see him now, "Ah, welcome to this, the Fourth Test of the '3' Test series." WTF???
Double takes from the audience all round. :D
Highlights for me were some of the blokes who copped a caning on this board and whose places were questioned, but who all stepped up and played crucial roles at times. Bevan, Martyn, Lee, Hogg and probably most important of the lot, Symonds. Without that big hundred in the first game against...
I didn't notice at the time, but watching a bit of the replay on Fox tonight, with 4 overs to go, Aust. were 2/312. Ponting was 103, Martyn 83. In 4 overs they scored 47 runs, of which Punter got 37 while poor old Marto couldn't get much strike and got 5 (with 5 extras.) Just shows how dominant...
So 2 or 3 games where Australia were 3/50 or 60 odd, and the captain back in the pavilion, and a game where the Poms had us on toast aren't losing positions? Get a grip. Steve Waugh's form from the end of the Test series to the end of the domestic season warrants his spot for the tour of the...
Balls. Symonds picked the ball up almost beside the stumps, it only dribbled a few yards. Too quick for anyone to get in a position to back up. Still say it was worth the shy, especially if you have that many runs to play with.
Great throw, Lehman, got him. Yeeessss!!
It's funny, but I don't see anyone bagging Bichel for his exuberance when he takes a wicket. Lee must be a better target for some.
Bloody hell, for years people have whinged about cricketers for being boring, having no flair, no passion yet now you have players showing emotions...
I hope he had the foresight to get his family out of Zimbabwe before the World Cup, could leave them in a very ordinary postion if they aren't. If pricks like Mugabe can't get to people like Olongo, they tend to take their frustrations out on their nearest and dearest. :(
Hey, 90% of this board over this summer have been screaming for his head because he couldn't get even the tailenders out, now when he does he still gets criticised. Fickle.
Actually, the whole thing went along the lines of "Well, we had 3 wides in the previous over, and now we have 3 more here, all waving to their dieticians" :D
He has played County cricket OldLion, was it with Hampshire? One of the commentators from Tuesday night mentioned it when he was batting, but I've forgotten. He has scored a first class ton with his county side, whoever it was.
What did Katich end up with? I couldn't be bothered looking for myself. :p He seems to have got amonst the runs late in the season, although I remember somebody posting that was averaging around 50 at one stage (not sure whether it was Pura cup or ING cup), so he been getting starts but hadn't...
Almost as funny as Tony Grieg looking at the pics of clouds on the TV monitor saying that rain never comes in from the direction of where those clouds were, so they'll be OK as far as rain goes. :D
I did say the commentators had mentioned it, just couldn't remember whether it was during the call or the after match wrap-up.
As for the expectations, the players might have had thoughts of making it, but the general cricketing public wouldn't have. Add that to the jump in interest and the...
That will turn into a real grudge match now. The commentators were saying Kenya will have point to prove about Bangladesh getting Test status ahead of them, there is a bit of bad blood between them because of that fact. Plus there's the question of how will Kenya cope with the added expectation...
Sri Lanka 9/149.
Been watching this game more than the Aussie game. The Kenyan catching and ground fielding has been fantastic.
Boy, doesn't this open up that pool, Kenya is a chance to make the super 6's, according to the commentators if they beat Bangladesh, they are in.
Re: Re: Re: Re: reserve days
From this game, none. Only the points you've won against the other sides in your pool that make it through to the Super 6's are carried over.
The Windies shared the points from the washout with Bangladesh tonight, makes things a bit more interesting now. Sth Africa might have just caught a huge break there.
