    Anthony Albanese - How long?

Knifing him would be political suicide for the ALP. They need to give people reasons to trust the major parties again and knifing him would eradicate any trust they have rebuilt after the Rudd/Gillard years. If they get rid of him, you could see 20+ independants/Greens win seats in 2025.

    Anthony Albanese - How long?

It's not a huge win, but it's a sign of how things are trending as kickazz said. Distrust in major political parties is at an all time high and the ALP are probably the most likely to learn from that compared with the LNP. If their internal party feelings toward independants and minority parties...

Abbott Leadership challenge - "Et tu, Turnbull?" - 14/9/15

Abbott has come in from 7.50 to 3.50 over the past few hours. Bookies usually know what's up, interesting few hours ahead.

Abbott Leadership challenge - "Et tu, Turnbull?" - 14/9/15

I imagine swing voters are more likely to follow Turnbull than vote for Shorten. I wonder if Albo will use this as a way to knife Shorten.

Pledge to Create 1 million jobs

He won't do it within 5 years and that is if it happens at all. History suggests it takes around 10 years for 1 million jobs to be created, with around half of them being part-time.

The future of the ABC - Guthrie sacked

Q&A is by far the biggest example of potential ABC bias toward the left with Tony Jones constantly interrupting right-wing politicians. Just have a look at these statistics: Between February 2009 and November 2013, members of the Coalition made 136 appearances on Q&A to the ALPs 126. Despite...

'Electricity Bill' Shorten: abbott just couldn't help himself could he ?

I highly doubt the ALP thought Abbott would accept that offer. At least this way they can argue that they tried to offer an alternative, but were shot down.

I read somewhere that it would take about a month all together, but don't quote me on that.

    Next Labor Leader?

Sure, but the issue is that there is a very slim chance of Alabanese ever becoming PM. Only 3 first term opposition leaders have ever become PM, which suggests Shorten could be leader the next time the ALP has a strong chance of winning an election. I don't imagine that will be until at least 2019.

    Next Labor Leader?

It absolutely happened and you can't possibly refute this.

    Next Labor Leader?

I don't think the ALP can rebuild with the guy who had a major input into the knifing of two PM's as the leader.

Yeah, it was odd. It's a class on regime change, but I still thought she would have known.

The Senate - Balance of Power

I agree with DeanoT. Preferential voting is an issue. In my political science lecture at Uni today, we discussed the election and the topic of the minor parties came up. Nobody knew (including the lecturer) how minor parties could get a senate seat until I explained it. I'm not sure what the...

    Liberal Democratic Party - Australia

I actually received an email during the election from a friend who supports the LDP with this image attached:

    Next Labor Leader?

Yep, which is why a lot of younger voters like him.

    Next Labor Leader?

Agreed, which is strange considering Turnbull is anti-union and supports privatization. I suppose wearing a leather jacket on Q&A raises your profile.

The Aussie public = we have no idea

I would say that the majority of the younger generation care more about the theatrical aspect of politics, rather than actual policies. Its no surprise that they dislike Abbott due to his stance on social issues such as gay marriage, abortion, etc.

Kevin Rudd: All Refugees must go to PNG...

How is this supposed to stop people smuggling/boats? It's a policy aimed at the racist morons in this country who basically read "Asylum seekers won't end up in Australia" and so they praise Rudd.
