Knifing him would be political suicide for the ALP. They need to give people reasons to trust the major parties again and knifing him would eradicate any trust they have rebuilt after the Rudd/Gillard years. If they get rid of him, you could see 20+ independants/Greens win seats in 2025.
It's not a huge win, but it's a sign of how things are trending as kickazz said. Distrust in major political parties is at an all time high and the ALP are probably the most likely to learn from that compared with the LNP. If their internal party feelings toward independants and minority parties...
He won't do it within 5 years and that is if it happens at all. History suggests it takes around 10 years for 1 million jobs to be created, with around half of them being part-time.
Q&A is by far the biggest example of potential ABC bias toward the left with Tony Jones constantly interrupting right-wing politicians. Just have a look at these statistics:

I agree with DeanoT. Preferential voting is an issue. In my political science lecture at Uni today, we discussed the election and the topic of the minor parties came up. Nobody knew (including the lecturer) how minor parties could get a senate seat until I explained it.
I'm not sure what the...
I would say that the majority of the younger generation care more about the theatrical aspect of politics, rather than actual policies. Its no surprise that they dislike Abbott due to his stance on social issues such as gay marriage, abortion, etc.
How is this supposed to stop people smuggling/boats? It's a policy aimed at the racist morons in this country who basically read "Asylum seekers won't end up in Australia" and so they praise Rudd.
Hassan Ayoub was jailed in Perth back in 2004 for people smuggling.
