The Libs just won the election. Australia will not tolerate a female Prime Minister, especially since the older generation are still the largest voting block. Its really that simple. Rudd had his problems but at least he was a chance. Well done to them on out-flanking labor.

Libs were dumb to implode over this issue. The environment is not a political issue they were ever going to win. If they were smart they would have got this out the way quickly and cleanly and moved onto other issues they can attack Rudd on. Now they are unelectable as an alternative government.

Difference is Karlene Marwald really has nothing to show for her support of the ALP while Grylls could lay claim to brokering an extra $600 million a year to regional areas. And while Grylls is pushing hard for Labor I expect him to be overruled to form a traditional coalition.

Labor don't deserve to win but the Libs don't deserve to win either. Its truly a sad state of affairs :(
