My Jack who went over the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday at 16 years old. Will never forget you boy and hope that when it's my turn you'll be there waiting for me.
Meh. No sympathy. I've gone overseas teaching, as well as in remote communities in the NT, earlier in my career in order to get a job. The younger generation just want everything handed to them on a silver platter. A bit like these mumma boys drafted to an interstate club who don't want to go...
Poland is so cheap. Especially compared to Copenhagen where everything costs an arm and a leg. $2 for a coffee in Poland. $10 in Denmark. The only thing that shits me about Poland is the public transportation. So confusing. We had to change trains 3 times from the airport to the city. And...
Did a 4 hr walking tour today. Glad I didn't do 8. My feet were killing me after 4. But it was a great way to see the city and it ended at Checkpoint Charlie, a 2 minute walk from where I'm staying. Going to the Topography of Terror and DDR museums tomorrow.
Neuschwanstein Castle (the one the Disney castle is based on) near Munich yesterday.
The Nazi Rallying Grounds where Hitler held his rallies in Nuremberg today.
Yeah. Am definitely going there. Also going to Schindler's Factory in Krakow. My whole trip to Poland is because I'm a WWII history buff. I went to Dachau last time I was in Munich. Very interesting but also very sobering.
I've been to Germany twice but never been to Berlin. Really looking forward to it. Hope I'm not so drunk from Oktoberfest that I miss my flight home. Or maybe I do.
Settled on my itinerary for next month:
Munich - 2 days. Have been there before but am flying into there and really want to go to Neuschwanstein Castle which I didn't get time for last time.
Berlin - 4 days
Hamburg - 2 days
Copenhagen - 3 days
Gdansk - 3 days
Warsaw - 3 days
Krakow - 5...
I love coffee but I suffer from diverticulitis and have worked out that caffeine is a major instigator of flare ups so have reduced my intake. Only have one cup each morning. I need my daily fix.
I've never seen it. I've never seen a Toy Story film either.
I went and saw Doctor Sleep last weekend. I loved it, though it felt more like a fantasy thriller than a horror movie, and I thought the links to The Shining were rather tenuous.
Long service leave approved for April. 6 weeks in Europe. At this stage looking at Poland, Ukraine(looking at doing a tour of Chernobyl), the Baltic states and Finland. Question to people who have used Airbnb before. How far in advance do you need to book and when is too early? If I start...
