If McKay cops a longish term injury we're f***** , so would've thought we'd keep him for his last year of contract especially as we aren't sure Reid can stand up.
AFL needs to create a waiver wire like in US sports. Anyone out of the system is subject to a week on waivers. If no club takes them then they can sign with whoever. Waiver works in reverse ladder order. One you’ve made selection e.g North picks up McKenna North drops to bottom and 17th team is...
Maybe club feels there are clubs willing to offer him two and don’t want to lose him as the other talls are not ready yet. We’re asking him to play through the ages of 29 & 30. He kicked 64 goals in two seasons as Bombers36 alluded to. He can do that again
We’re ****ed if Sheedy stays on the board and he’s only ever going to want to get Hird back. How can we say to any other prospective coach that he’ll have the board’s full support? Especially as Sheeds has Dodoro in his corner ….it’s a clash before new coach has even started
Sheedy took over a very strong young list, everyone knew it was a plum job. He did a great job no doubt and probably just what was needed but it was an exceptional list
How was Ch 7 after the siren, barely got a glimpse of Hurls until he was carried off. Would’ve been nice to see teammates and opposition going up and shaking his hand
Let’s not forget Hird’s previous relationship as a player with Shane Charters, who of course had links with Dank and Weapon. Whatever it takes, giving players needles etc etc. Had to take some responsibility. Put another coach like Hardwick or even Knights and those guys don’t get anywhere near...
Terrific player and like all most other players of the period deserved so much more. These guys played 3 full seasons with drugs s**t over their head then missed a season. Four years wasted. Hurls has missed an additional two with injuries. 6 years out of his career. Wish him all the best
Bill Belichick, Wayne Bennett, Allan Jeans and a heap of other highly successful coaches of the past were not great on front of the press. It’s the comms behind closed doors that matters
Seems a painfully shy kid. Lost his brother and then came to Melbourne at 18. Not easy. Just let him go back home for very late pick, never know back with family he could turn things around. Good luck to him
