Agree that opening is Stoinis' best spot. David is not good enough to bat any higher though. He came in early a lot this season for Hobart and he can't build an innings, he is just an out and out slogger.
It always just seems to be some. MM would usually be the type of guy they would cotton wool but if they want to give the finals a boost marketing wise they might let him play.
With Harry Neilsen they are basically playing with 10 men. Heavily compromised fixture when all other teams in finals calculations have already got to play them twice without their two best players.
I worked with some Indian guys and I asked them what they were doing for Christmas and they said because public transport on xmas day was free they were going to go to Ballarat for the day to have a look around. I don't think it would be tough to attract people to the cricket if the price of the...
It was supposed to be East v West. Right and wrong side of the river. Funnily enough people who don't like going to docklands for footy, also don't like going to docklands for cricket.
Look I don't know if Bell has had injuries over the journey but he started his Shield career well and then basically went missing for the 3 years Siddle played for Tassie.
The two seasons pre Siddle he took over 50 wickets combined.
Then only played 7 matches across the 3 years Siddle was...
The Tassie side looks pretty cobbled together with the exodus of some the senior players but they have started the season ok considering and it would be a long time since the team had 6 locals in the XI like the first two games of the season
Yeah I am neutral on Howie. It's a role in the commentary box that is not needed for mine but since the commercial networks persist with it Howie is better than the other non cricketers (Andy Maher, Richo) and the former players they try to use to do it (Slater, Julian etc). Gilly is probably...
I didn't have a problem with them offering Faulkner a reduced contract due to him not playing FC cricket and not getting on the park in white ball cricket anyway but to turn around and pick up Stanlake who is basically in the exact same spot is not great IMO.
Stanlake and Paris. Canes physio is going to be busy.
Stanlake's T20 record is actually a fair bit better than I thought it would be. Maybe it is still slanted towards his early career when he looked the next big thing.
Hobart always pick the right player type that the squad needs. Leg spinning all rounder is perfect with the batting and fast bowling depth they have. Issue is the players always suck when they get out here!
That is restrictive then. So someone like Ben Dunk who has gone far and wide and played in SA and Sri Lanka and wherever else when the big bash was on would have had to have had permission because he had a Stars contract a couple of years ago. That is nuts. Fair enough to a degree with national...
