The rules clearly define a mark. It is to be paid when a player controls the ball. If you get first touch and then control the ball after the second grab, it's not a mark if an opponent touches the ball in the interim. That has always been the case. That interpretation has never altered.
I can't get over the deliberate out of bounds call against Bryce Gibbs. I know technically it was a correct decision, but I'd really love to know what Gibbs was supposed to do in that situation.
If you watch that again, Silvagni took first grab, but before he took it the second time a Richmond player touched it. Like you, I thought it was a Silvagni mark until I saw the replay.
Correct, and the Norwood Football Club was informed as well. Apparently will be out for around 8 weeks but should make a full recovery. Bishes wishes big fella, wish you were still at Norwood :thumbsu:
I have to admit, you guys were good today. There can only be one winner, and fortunately it was us ... we really needed it.
Up to now, I never rated Carlton, but I have to admit, you have a good team in the making.
All the best for the rest of 2009, and thanks for the great game :thumbsu:
Look on the bright side Blues fans, Carey also said Laidley wasn't the man to coach the Kangaroos. Carey's a boofhead, we all know that. Having Carey downplay Rutten's appointment is a definite bonus for the Blues :)
I've said it before, I'll say it again .... Wayne Carey is proof you can be a good footballer and not have a brain in the head. Why he needs to keep proving he's an idiot is beyond me.
As for Ratten, looks like Carlton have good a good one.
So if you assulted someione while you were overseas on holiday, your employer would be responsible? I don't think so. Carlton cannot and should not be held responsible for the stupidity of one of its' players in the off season.
I've seen a little bit of Gilham playing for North Adelaide in the SANFL and I think there's definitely some potential there. He moves very well, has good skills and reads the play well. Probably needs to add a little bulk to his frame to be an AFL defender. I'm surprised he didn't get...
Well, he's never been famous for wanting to move around a lot :)
Seriously, I think Whitnall still has a lot to offer. He'll only be 26 next season, has about 180 games under his belt. That's a good get by Carlton to hang onto him.

Re: Attn: Opposition supporters
We had the same problem just recently on the Hawthorn Board. Things appear to have settled down of late, I think certain posters were banned.
232 games, Hawthorn captain for 6 seasons, 4 times club champion, 4 times All-Australian, Brownlow Medal, Australian International Rules captain.
Yeah, that's a loser alright ... not a winner like you.
